I saw this news article on Hooping.org. I didn't know this girl nor have I ever seen any videos etc, but it made me so sad when I read it. Just knowing what beautiful people hoopers tend to be made me connect with this story. I feel for her family and loved ones and they will be in my thoughts and prayers. Did anybody here on Tribe know her? If so maybe use this post to remeber her with stories etc. So sad.

It sure souds like she was murdered. "Face down in an alley with tire tracks all over her body." How terrible. The article said she was always hula hooping in front of her apartment. I wonder if she had her hoop with her when this happened, if that's how she attracted someone's attention. What a terrible tragedy. -

Thu, June 25, 2009 - 1:21 AMThis is horrible, horrible ~ so sad. I wonder if there's some way for the hoop community to honor her spirit. I mean, I didn't know her personally, but imagine she loved to hoop as much as people I *do* know. And she was really young. Poor girl.

Sun, June 28, 2009 - 11:37 AMThis is so sad. She had signed up for Hoop Convergence this year, but backed out at the last second. Her emails were full of life and excitement. I tried to help her find a ride, but I think she was going through emotional and financial woes.
What a tragic story.

sure sounds like a murder to me....christ. how awful...Maybe as a tribute we could post some hoop eulogy videos?? It's a bit odd doing it for someone you've never meant, but I think it would be wonderful. Sass's hoop eulogy to her friend Ineke was incredibly moving. :'{
