Introduction

Hi all! I am new both to Tribe, and to hooping. I discovered the world of hooping back in April, when I saw a video on Youtube of someone hooping to Poe's "Walk The Walk". Something about her hooping really grabbed me. As soon as I saw it, I was in awe, and knew, in my heart and my gut, that I HAD to hoop! Since then I've made my own hoop, and have begun to learn how to hoop, both with the help of Youtube tutorials, and the first Hoopnotica instructional dvd. I've been practicing, and feel quite comfortable hauling my hoop in to town with me so I can hoop before work and during my lunch break. :) I haven't taped my hoop up yet. I'll be going with a green colored theme, and will have to order some tape from Identitape if I can't find any offline.

For me, hooping is linked in with my spirituality. It's a mediation in movement, a means to contemplate how the seasons and other natural events are continuously cycling 'round and 'round. It's also a means for me to move, and express myself through that movement.

So anyway, that's my take on hooping! Just thought I'd introduce myself... :)

Beautifully spoken. That resonates with me in a big way. I also learned how to hoop through the wonders of you tube videos. Before hooping I didn't really think much of that application - now it's a tangible link to so much inspiration and helps me to foster my own growth as a hooper.

Welcome! The world needs more hoopers! :)
