I first saw someone hooping at a street performance in Iowa late July 2007. It was really incredible and I wanted to learn. Then in October, I was at Faeriecon in Philly when I saw a girl doing some hoop moves. I ran up to talk to her about it and she offered to sell me the simple hoop she had made. I bought it and have been teaching myself ever since. So it's now been about 6 months since I started. I'm so excited about the weather getting warm because I haven't really had a chance to hoop outside because I started during fall and winter. It's been difficult to find space to practice anywhere when you can't practice outside. I need to really work on my dance skills so that the moves really flow from one to the next and to make my body more graceful. Other than that, I feel pretty confident in the moves I can do so far.
