Hi I just started hooping about 4 months ago, and i dont want to sound stupid. but, Ive been making hoops and I cant seem to find the right amount of water/weight to put in them. Ive tried different amounts and they always seem to be to heavy or too light. I was just wondering if anyone has advice for me.
I feel like for different tricks and moves the different weights help alot. the lighter hoop i can do more arm and isolation moves and then the heavier i can do alot of body, leg and chest hooping better.
does anyone have a good weight or water amount to put in there that works good for everything. or that works good for you?
and i use 1'' tubing for my hoops. are there any differences if you use 3/4" tubing.
Also what is a good size to make a hoop?
if you guys could give me some hooping advice i would really apriciate it :)

Re: Hoop Making Questions/advice
Tue, March 31, 2009 - 7:37 PMTypically 3/4 inch tubing is used to make hoops, but its all up to you...its your creation. I use PVC piping and that alone is heavy enough to get the hoop to glide around the body. Careful with hooping with a hoop too heavy though cause it can really strain your body! Good luck, happy hooping :) -

Wed, April 1, 2009 - 6:56 AMA good beginner hoop should go chest high. I have made 1' before but generally use 3/4 & for water hoops I add anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 cup water. Many here (on tribe) don't like water hoops. I used water for the first few months of hooping - then I switched to empty and never went back.. -

Re: Hoop Making Questions/advice
Wed, April 1, 2009 - 6:57 AMI do sell water hoops more than empty b/c I am selling to a lot of 'returning adult' hoopers or 'adult beginner' hoopers and they seem to like water best.. Just my experience in the past 2+ years of doing this..
