Re: Just starting out
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 1:08 PMYou need a larger hoop.. Bigger is easier. Many of the beginners like the water hoops that I make.. but it seems as if the hoop community doesn't always go for those.. The hoop should go up to your chest when standing on the ground. there are directions for making hoops on hooping.org. Any kind of hoop that feels good is good. --just don't use kid's hoops!

Re: Just starting out
Thu, April 17, 2008 - 2:21 PMHey new hooper!
I'm glad you've discovered hoopdance. A fantastic place to start is Hoopnotica (hoopnotica.com). They have one of the best comprehensive beginner hoopdance dvds and a variety of hoops to choose from. If you have a limited budget, hooping.org as well as the hooping tribes have many detailed resouces you can use to make your own hoops. If you have any questions just post them on one of the tribes- there are plenty of people who love to help!
