So, anyone have any great tips on how to get all the sticky residue left on your scizzors after you cut all the tapes? I've ruined so many pairs, curious if any one has found a great home remedy.
Rubbing alcohol perhaps?

Re: Sticky Scizzors, any suggestions?
Sun, February 10, 2008 - 4:01 AMI have used cigarette lighter fuel on a piece of cotton wool. Does the job nicely and evaporates the reside of the lighter fuel off too thus leaving it all nice and clean. But at the moment I have a tin of 3M Scotch Clean Art cleaning fluid (looks and smells pretty much like lighter fluid and is highly flammable, so it's probably pretty similar. Works a dream on Spray Mount art fixative and also on all kinds of sticky tape glue.

Sun, February 10, 2008 - 11:41 AMAcetone--you can buy it at the beauty supply stores-- it dissolves acrylic nails, takes off nail polish, removes sticky tape residue from scissors....
Regular nail polish remover may work as well.
Good luck!

Sun, February 10, 2008 - 6:48 PMAlcohol, goo gone or any citrus (orange-type) cleaner will clean them right up. Those tapes dull your scissors to though so I keep a dedicated pair just for cutting tapes.

Mon, February 11, 2008 - 5:51 AMPick up some "Goo Gone" from the hardware store (citrus based label remover). Some drug stores, grocery stores, and Cost Plus (not Costco) carry it too. Works great.

Mon, February 9, 2009 - 6:26 AMWas just having a mooch about Tribe and came across this post...
The best thing I have found is pure Tea Tree Oil. No chemicals, nothing nasty, just good reliable goo busting!
HTH!
