Emphasis for 5/21 Wednesday DJ class.

Sorry for not letting everyone know about Monday's theme before class, but I did want to post about Wednesday, and let you know that the emphasis will be on legs and shoulders. We'll work on getting everyone more comfortable with these areas in both currents. I think it would be a good idea to bring a groove hoop if you are not (yet) proficient in one or both of these areas. We will not take the hoop below the knee for sustained revolutions, but we will try to push our control as low and as high on the Core (shoulder to knee) as we can. If the energy goes there, we might work on angles from the shoulders and legs, but we will have our hands full without that. There are many subtle skills for us to develop that will help us do a LOT of things from these two locations of the body. (Changing speeds is a subtle, but fun skill to have in either place, for instance.)

I recommend wearing whatever you consider to be "optimum" shoulder and leg hooping clothing. It will speed up your learning process if you utilize as many advantages as are available to you.
