Toni asked me to post this in the "Circles of Joy" and "Hoop Path" tribes.
Hi y'all,
Well, I had my eye surgery, but on the right eye instead of the left. Things are not looking good for either eye, the right literally as well as figureatively, nor the pain. I made an update vido on You Tube if you want to see how bad I look.
I am in more pain now and that's not how it should be. The doctor said that I should have a lot less pain and also that I should see what I was able to see before the surgery. Well, I can't see anything. I have light perception but that's it. All I see is white. But one good thing, I'm not sensitive to light like I was before the surgery! So let's look at the BRIGHT side! * groan-bad joke! *
For now I just have a lot of drops to put in and hope the swelling starts to go down and hope the pain goes away. and my sight, little that I had, comes back. If it doesn't get better: 1. He won't try the left eye (makes sense), and 2. He has nothing else that he can do for me. Not a good thoughtt.
But the worst is that I can't hoop for at least 10 days!!! How cruel can doctors be?

Re: Request Post from Thundershyne with Update
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 2:54 AMOh, my previous response somehow didn't go through Tribe so I'll write again. Toni, we most definitely felt your absence during the Retreat and held space for you. I personally have found your presence in the hooping community to be powerful and inspiring. Funny how someone I never met has become such a strong part of my awareness, but I keep finding that happen again and again in the hooping community. There is a special ability to connect and to be affected by each other that I think is testament to the fact that we are not just playing with circles of irrigation tubing but doing something much deeper and more meaningful. You have a strong and moving voice in our community, even when you are unable to pick up your hoop.
I'll be sending you lots of healing thoughts and prayers and I truly hope that your Path gets a little easier soon. Please know that you are loved and supported as much as possible by the hoopdancers you have touched. If we could somehow magically take away your pain and heal your eyes and hearing, we would. Your Spirit, however, seems strong and whole and complete. Thank you for sharing that Spirit with us and holding us up in that way.

Re: Request Post from Thundershyne with Update
Mon, June 29, 2009 - 5:08 PMHi Toni
I'm sad to hear that your surgery has left you worse off. But I'm hoping that with recuperation, the symptoms may ease and give you some benefit. You really don't deserve this rough lot you have been dealt. But you are inspirational in how to combat it nevertheless.
You must give your eye the best possible chance, so no defying the doctors and hooping before time. Your plentiful hoops will be there for you when you are ready. They are not going anywhere.
Good luck. Fingers crossed.
Sue
