The Nekyia (www.thenekyia.org) is a hot, up-and-coming SF-based performance company. We present an intoxicating stage show featuring the finest in dance, acrobatics, aerial and fire performance. Described as “uncomfortably sexy”, “full of passion”, and “impeccably professional”, The Nekyia’s powerful stage presence and unrepentant sensuality stir up both delight and controversy. With their saucy hips, back flips, and high kicks, they celebrate a long line of burlesque queens, leg show ladies, video vamps and pin-up nymphs, from Mata Hari to Madonna.
The Nekyia is looking for female dancers/performers to expand their bevy of showgrrrls and accommodate the growing number of requests for their services both locally and nationally.
Dancers must be fully trained in at least one of the following:
Ballet
Jazz
Belly Dance
Latin Dance
Samba
Preference will be given to dancers with additional skills such as:
Aerial
Acrobatics
Fire Performance
Theater
Something else interesting and stage-worthy
All dancers must have previous professional experience, extensive training, and be in very good shape. Strength, flexibility, and a solid understanding of musicality and dance vocabulary are essential.
