I've tried getting some friends to come to PSF, but none of them have taken my bait. I have a car and can get down there but am holding off on buying a ticket while I ponder whether buying a tent and going solo is worth it. I think I'd have a blast, but the solo and no tent things are two impedances to hitting PSF.
I noticed some posts of people looking for a ride from Philly to PSF. Anyone have a tent to share or some motivational words to sway me towards a musical and magical weekend?

Re: (+) Philly wheels, no tent or tix yet though
Tue, June 30, 2009 - 2:16 AMA tent is always a good thing to have on hand.
Being solo is often the best way to meet new people.
I recall GREAT times at the 2 PEX parties I attended with my GF in Philly.
Hoping she and I can scrape together the necessary funds to rent a car
score TIX and get to PSF!

Re: (+) Philly wheels, no tent or tix yet though
Tue, June 30, 2009 - 4:18 AMSolo is no problem. You're never alone at this kind of event.
The tent? First off tents are CHEAP at walmart. After the event you can go back to walmart because they're happy to accept your returned item and refund you the purchase price. Or if you're satisfied, keep it. They're happy either way. It doesn't have to be new-in-box to be returnable. How else are you gonna know if you're satisfied if you don't use it?
Hopefully someone has an extra tent to share. Sorry I dont have one :(
From what I can tell so far there are lots of trees there... I'm sure you could find someplace to put up a hammock and then put a rope between the trees above it and throw a tarp over that like a pup-tent. Cheap and so much shade and airflow you can sleep through the heat of the day no problem! This is how I camp at burns that have trees. No better way to go in my opinion and its super cheap.
There is car camping too, you could just tie a tarp off the side of your car's roof and stake the other end down. Maybe even put a couple poles to hold it up a bit. Instant rain-proof shade structure thats probably better than a tent anyway.
People have slept under the stars for 100,000 years. Tents are overrated. A ground cloth and a sleeping bag is all you need most of the time. worst case you might need to go seek shelter elsewhere for awhile. Which is no problem. Structures everywhere.
You'll figure something out. Hopefully you can carpool with some tent-loaning mofos!
Motivational words? I've got 10 of them for you. ATTEND PSF OR I'LL BURY YOU ALIVE IN A BOX!!!
