Plastic Fantastic is excited to be going to PEX Summer Festival!
It's awesome that clean running water will be available on site - no need for water bottles here. isn't that awesome. If you do decide to bring bottled water, please bring them to the Plastic Fantastic dome which will be in theme camp area.
And while there, take some respite in the middle of the day! Over 2,000 water bottles will be on site to be added to the dome, which will be shaded by tarps.
and what we do at PEXSF will be part of Plastic Fantastic's exhibition, FILTHY at Studio 34 at the end of July.

Fantastic Dome
Plastic Fantastic is 16-foot diameter geodesic dome covered in over 5,000 post-consumer water bottles. One may participate in the making of the dome and/or in one of the programmed events - an opening reception, a video shoot, an activist action, a public talk, and/or a sunset dance party.

Wed, July 8, 2009 - 6:16 PMThank you! PEX was a wonderful and productive weekend for Plastic Fantastic. First thank you to Jason and Reno for the power of suggestion at the sculpture derby. Hedy and Heidi for organizing the placement and the wonderful presence on the pex sf website. Thank you to everyone who was able to contribute a little time or just stop by and chill for a bit while the bottles went on the dome. Thank you to those who dropped off some bottles. Thank you to the american dream team cabin across the street for lending the 100ft power cord. Thank you to Angie from Studio 34 for making the trip just for a night to put up the dome and wrap the chicken wire around it. Thank you for PEX for organizing such a beautiful spot for an event. I worried about doing this on my own and people definitely rose to the occasion and it was so much much appreciated and fun, from the building of the dome to packing it up, I was not left to my own radical self reliance which would not have never have been enough. Especially thank you to Marta for all the unseen prep time, Mark for finishing a whole triangle of his own, Scott for breakdown, Filthy for promotions, Umi (sp?) for getting it, the meditative moments of building, Jeanette, Sarah, Bink and Ontonca for their energy, and Andrw for unpacking. Thank you community of PEX!!!! YOU make that 1% of my dreams actually come true! word.
