2008 was so forgettable, so let's remember 1983 instead! It's been 25 years since the end of that wonderful year in music, and, tonight, we'll be celebrating its anniversary with music from 1983 and before. Let's remember the good ol' days, "Blue Monday," ( the actual 'blue monday for this year just happened this week! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Monday_(date) - how about that?), and all those great artists who made New Wave on the veritable wild west of music during those years. Hope to see you there!

This Friday, The Pleasure Principle is ringing in the new year by commemorating the end of a great year of music - 1983 - with the beginning of the greatest music around. DJ Prince Charming and DJ Skip (New Wave City, Temptation) will be celebrating where it all began with the early years of New Wave and Synthpop from 1983 and before. We'll be playing music from greats that helped start it all like Gary Numan, The B-52's, Ultravox, OMD, Joy Division, The Human League, XTC, The Cure, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, Heaven 17, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Visage, The Jam, Adam and the Ants, and so much more as we turn back the clock to 1983. You're bound to hear the era's classics you love and walk away with some new or forgotten favorites too. Best of all, there's NO cover charge! Why not come on down and treat your feet to a great night of dancing?

Fri, January 23, 2009 - 6:47 PMHaha.. I guess it depends on whom you ask.
The only thing more depressing the MLK Jr. Day has to be Talk Like a Pirate Day. Now that's a real downer of a holiday. Yarrgh. :(
