I am curious about how everyone out there is working to mend the hoop?
What can we do individually and collectively?

      Rededication perhaps, plus
Introspection to improve our own conscious connection to the hoop.
Disciplined mindfulness in knowing when to act and when to observe.

      hi michael.

individually, here's what I think. Reduce what you take.
      1) work to reduce the harm each of us is causing the earth. I think it focuses around preventative measures. Use less toilet paper, grow your own food, etc. Whatever you can do in your individual sphere.

Increase your give back - your reacharound to the earth mother.
2)another piece is to be proactive about returning and regenerating the life energy of the earth. If you can plant a food that will propagate by itself, then you are adding to the existing chi. If you plant a medicinal that is useful, then you're adding to the chi. Think at least 7 generations in the future, our descendants that might have to exist without the present methods of agriculture and grocery markets. The hoop was an abundant wild garden that existed because humans interacted with it in a way that allowed there to be more, because of the interaction.

      3) What we're doing is finding places where the foods/medicines/chi of the earth is strong, and gathering seeds and plants, and moving them to places where the permaculture has been damaged by farming and grazing practices. We are also identifying where they are presently in danger, and moving them to places where they will be protected. During pinion camp, which was the last camp (which is currently happening in Nevada), we're planting 200 pounds of the indignious permaculture which was gathered during the root festival over the summer solstice. Another project is moving the Pinion pines into places they will grow. Because the seasons and climates are shifting, the plants aren't producing much, and where they are producing, commercial harvesting is raping the forest, leaving very little for others who gather, including the animals that rely of them for food. If we don't move them into places that the climate will let them grow (which oregon and idaho's climate is shifting enough to allow them) then the pines as a food source may disappear. It is my belief that shifts similar to the ones we are experiencing have happened before, and it took the deliberate actions of those invested (the indiginous people) to move them around and ensure they didn't disappear.

      4) Hoop law - come bearing gifts, give everything it's life, carry your own weight. These ideals work well in almost any situation, physically or socially, and honoring wherever I am seems to be a way to give back as well.

      5) Working wherever you are - I've been heading out to the desert to participate with Coyotes camp, but Cascadia is my home, and where I want to spend most of my time. Now we're working to find the native foods here, and rewild them as well. And it doesn't just extend to the natives. We've had a lot of success with naturalized garlics, for example. So, wherever you are, you're are on a hoop. And it's not just the earth who needs this healing chi, but our human and animal families as well.
