"The Shire" at Okeakua is the location of Rebirth, Hawaii's first regional Burning Man interactive art gathering, and other quality events such as Pickin' in Pahoa, Alchemy, Illumination, Summer of Love, and Puna Butter & Jam Bluegrass Festival. The Shire is a gathering place and being developed as a biointensive organic farm located near Pahoa village, nestled in the magical rainforest of the island of Hawaii. Events include firespinning, music-spinning, and acoustic musical gatherings for friends and family of The Shire, as well as plans to host women's and men's gatherings.
