"The Shire" at Okeakua has been the location of Rebirth, Hawaii's first regional Burning Man interactive art gathering, and quality private agriculturally-related events such as Pickin' in Pahoa, Alchemy, Illumination, and Summer of Love. The Shire is a gathering place and being developed as a biointensive organic farm located near Pahoa village, nestled in the magical rainforest of the island of Hawaii. Events include firespinning, music-spinning, and acoustic musical gatherings for friends and family of The Shire, as well as plans to host women's and men's gatherings.
