Here we are building community through interaction.
The Tell 'n' show is an evolving effort baked up by a collective that meets at the poet pad once a week to support each others ideas to encourage expression one night a month.
The event is a by donation event with a main {performance} stage, activities room, neighbourhood marketplace and Arts & Crafts corner.
The performance stage starts with a feature act. Usually a local upcoming artist / group. Then the night opens in to a spoken word showcase where members of the crowd sign up and all who sign up recieve prizes from local community businesses. Then an open stage is facilitated by Mike Sheely & a special guest emmcee. After all of that there is an open jam session that is renouned around victoria, bc.
The activites room entails workshops, skill sharing, leactures and of course... activities. Past workshops have included homescale permaculture, transplanting plants, kineseology, shiastu, reiki, emotional release, mayan calenders, native herbs & plants & yoga.
Anyone can hold a workshop and/or share space in the activities room. If your interested please contact us via email the_tell_n_show@hotmail.com
the neighbourhood marketplace is a unique anoymalie. Here there is no table fee. People can come to sell there art and network lest i say have a great time. There is also a free box and a space reserved for trading. The Tell 'n' Show also offers a volunteer to stand at a large table for those who don't want to stand by thier wares The only thing that we ask is 15% of sales to by donated back to recover collective costs. To be involved please contact via email the_tell_n_show@hotmail.com
the Arts & Craft Corner is a crazy corner to explore. Many different mediums used here. November was the 1st month and we held space for a collective canvass of mass porportiaons. We plan on holding a silent auction over the next 2 months to raise funds for future explorations.
we are always loking for more art supplies.
The night is only offered as long as volunteers continue to volunteer. We are always looking for input and help in many different ways.
