TIBETAN SHIRODHARA

Our Tibetan Shirodhara treatment provides the space to go deep, experience profound relaxation, and feel totally supported. We have brought together four Tibetan massage techniques in a seamless rhythm ending with shirodhara, the pouring of a continuous stream of warm oil over the middle of the forehead to profoundly relax the body and bring peace and clarity to the mind. Tibetan Shirodhara gently coaxes the clients to rest in a quiet space and experience their true selves - a deeply nurturing and psycho - spiritual experience. This is a process that demands a therapist to develop and embody a mindful attitude and create a space for their client that is both safe and 'sacred.' If given in such an environment, the client will have an experience that is physically nurturing, mentally calming and which will help them become more in touch with their inner being.
THEORY
*Bringing balance to the three doshas, subtle energies, by working on particular parts of the body such as the abdomen, the eyes and the chest
*Indicators and precautions for offering the shirodhara treatment
*How shirodhara works
*Customizing the oils, oil temperature, and pattern of application for shirodhara
PRACTIAL
*palpating diagnostic points
*Tibetan marma point massage for relieving psychological stress
*abdominal massage using oil, marma points and the application of a warm Tummy Warmer
*Tibetan Eye Rejuvenation therapy for relief of stress held around the eyes. This includes eye massage, use of eye pillow, customized lotion and hot stone application to the feet.
*Shirodhara- application of continuous stream of warm oil to the forehead
*Use of equipment and customizing temperature stream and patterns of application
*(Optional scalp massage)
*preparation of tea and snack

HIMALAYAN MOUNTAIN ABHYANGA TRAINING
June 16th-18th
Abhyanga means full body oil massage by one or more therapists. Our treatment calls for one therapist working on one side of the body at a time using warmed aromatic oils to nourish the skin and mobilize deeper tissues. During the massage marmas (secret energy points) are used to freshen and revitalize the body. Finally, a warmed ubtan, herbal powder, is sprinkled over the whole body to polish the skin leaving you feeling light, energized and relaxed. This abhyanga treatment is deeply revitalizing and relaxing whilst at the same time being gently cleansing and detoxifying. The use of marma points, customized quality oils and herbal ubtan leaves the client feeling clear, calm, strengthened and more balanced on a deep level.
TIBETAN BLISSFUL SLEEP TRAINING

To address the problem of insomnia that many clients suffer with, we combine a unique form of reflexology using herbal oils and lotions, abdominal massage, and a traditional Tibetan marma sequence to help induce sleep and improve the quality of rest.

"Marmas and Mud Magic" is a spa treatment that combines Indian and Tibetan Ayurvedic treatments for an experience that helps your client release tension, do a gentle detoxification, then experience an infusion of prana or vital energy.
Following a foot soak and the use of a kansa vataki bowl to initiate a balancing and detoxification process,the client receives a Tibetan marma sequence designed to dismantle common stresses and tensions throughout the body. This is then followed by the application of the famous Auromere Herbomineral Mud, which detoxifies and encourages the body's uptake of prana.
In this 3-day training, Melanie will teach in the mornings and provide participants with the theory and knowledge behind the use of marmas or vital energy points and mitthi chikitsa - the application of muds and poultices in the Ayurvedic tradition. Afternoons will be with Robert, learning all of the practical steps and stages of the "Marmas and Mud Magic" sequence.
On the final day, each participant will give and receive the full 90 minute treatment.
