Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Mon, July 28, 2008 - 7:54 PMBeauty conspiracy is an underground grass roots group of people getting together to create beauty in whichever form.... Coming together to go above and beyond yourself. Going deeper into yourself to pull out your true beauty. Its real, natural, raw beauty.
COMING TOGETHER TO DEFINE THE HUB RAHTER THEN THE HUB DEFINING YOU
I am a beauty conspiracy because I am a walking contradiction. Because I have many things to say and many avenues to express my message. I want inspire and be inspired, I want to continuously grow and be surrounded by those on the same path to deeper knowledge.

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Tue, July 29, 2008 - 6:17 PMBeauty conspiracy is an all encompassing way of bringing one to a positive unity with ones self and it’s surroundings at the same time allowing one to follow there inner voices and trust there instincts. The personal voyage of each individual is one that is unique in it’s own right. The beauty is the individual; the conspiracy is following your internal and true natured instincts. Releasing the idea of concrete thinking and Judgment which tries to hide the beauty and confine the conspiracy, the true conspirator follow ones internal path while supporting the positive path of others.
The Beauty Conspiracy’s spirit has been around for centuries with a continual attempt to break free from the external and internal binds that have been set to diminish the positive outlook within ourselves and toward others.
Together we can be enlightened both individually and as a group allowing beauty and freedom of mind, body and spirit to enrich our existence
My desire to live by my core values of honesty, loyalty with an altruistic nature and following a code of integrity, trusting my instincts and always looking towards the positive energy within myself and my surrounding makes me a prime candidate to fall in with the conspirator's:)

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Fri, August 1, 2008 - 12:48 PMA known yet silent acknowledgment that beauty is expressed in goodness and love -- that beauty does not come at the expense of others but rather at the lifting up of others, and that true beauty is not frivolous, jealous or hurtful; it is strong, confident and empowering.
It is my belief that deep down, people know this to be true. And if they choose to follow their truth though they may sometimes fail, that makes them beauty conspirators. And makes me one of you. -

The subjective experience of "beauty" often involves the interpretation of some entity as being in balance and harmony with nature, which may lead to feelings of attraction and emotional well-being.
To Consipre literally means to "breathe together".
So, perhaps the beauty consipiracy is where we have inner harmony together...

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Wed, August 6, 2008 - 10:01 AMHmm. . . It's not a word set that resonates with me.
For me, "conspiracy" carries a negative connotation: a plan against something, some secret anger, subsersive, obscured, exclusive. . .
Couple it with "beauty" and I get this flashback to highschool -- the mean girls who were pert and blonde and pretty, with their bad attitudes, AquaNet, and too-pink lip gloss. Think of the films "Heathers" or "Mean Girls" and you get the idea.
I'm not interested in conspiring. I'm interested in being, and discovering. I'm interested in an open system, not a closed one; something collaborative and shared, not hidden and divisive.

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Wed, August 6, 2008 - 10:52 AMThis is probably not what you were looking for, but hmm... "Beauty Conspiracy"...
+ What the capitalist mass media has done to us in terms of defining what "beauty" is -- and how it's a conspiracy to make us doubt and dislike ourselves in order to buy more products to make us feel "more beautiful".
+ A rebellion or challenge against the "normal" definitions of beauty.
+ [[define conspiracy: a secret agreement between two or more people to perform an unlawful act]] A group of people who seek to break the media's control of our bodies and minds and reclaim the definition of beauty, or to entirely redefine what beauty is.
The definitions of "conspiracy" are quite predominantly negative and covert (to evil ends). It's a strange juxtaposition of an amazing ideal ("beauty") and something sinister and rebellious ("conspiracy").
I think of all the things that came to mind, I think that the mass media is the one who is having the beauty conspiracy, since they're the ones with the evil ends.
Am I a beauty conspiracy? I don't redefine beauty in myself or my being. Beauty is. It can only be revealed -- or suppressed. The conspiracy is when one suppresses another's beauty and convinces others that that beauty never existed. And I really *really* hope that I don't suppress anyone else's beauty. -

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Wed, August 6, 2008 - 4:49 PMBeauty is an emotion. It's an ellicited emotion. It only exists when it is called forth or evoked, through creativity, innovation, expression, ecstasy, kindness and meaning. True beauty is far from empty. It is full beyond words...
But I digress...
Is it a conspiracy if I cheat a little for the sake of beauty? Then color me guilty and pass the lipstick dears :D

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Wed, August 6, 2008 - 10:37 PMBeauty, to me, taken in it's true, solid meaning is certainly not about, let's say; red v.s. blue; desert v.s. forest; ballet v.s. folk, belly, tap, Irish step, etc. It's about the constantly evolving search for what is truely beautiful to the soul of the universe and it's workings including all us little specks doing our part to find it and bind with it. It is constantly digging through the whole big compost heap and finding the ways to honour it, live it and perpetuate it.
I think most things work in a balance and a like the Qabala Tree of Life for this. Good book, "The Witches Quabala", Ellen Cannon Reed! The balance is created by opposites like Chaos to Peace. I digress, but the beauty in how things work you have to take the mud with the sand and constantl;y search for the real "Good i.e. Beauty", you have to stomp through a lot of "Bad i.e. Ugly" many many times to come out ahead.
The conspiracy is many folded - as mentioned before, it can certainly be ugly to the core, or just stupid, eh? I believe, that even though I never considered myself A Beauty Conspiracy, leave it to Tiff to make me think about it and realize that most of my life I've strived for it even though I've often failed miserably. I believe myself to be closer and closer at this point because I've gone through so many of those negatives and put them (mostly) to rest. Doesn't mean I don't still sometimes feel jealousy, greed for stupid things, we all know these things. But, I recognize them more and know I need to stomp them out, after thoroughly exploring them.
The conspiracy aspect comes in from seeking to spread the wisdom when you find it and developing it by "conspiring" and learning from people who are also going in that direction and passing it on and around, changing it and bringing in new ideas as they happen.
So yea, at this point in my life I think and hope that I am a beauty conspiracy ... love to all, G
ps: I never proof read, so I hope it's all somewhat relevant and all that :~)

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Thu, August 7, 2008 - 11:50 AMHmmmmm,
the challenge of recognizing and supporting beauty in a time when beauty has some very specific, or highly celebrated, ideals.
-the beauty of spirit and attitude, let physical beauty sit in the backseat for a while and let inner beauty and substance be showcased
-the beauty of morphing, growing, and changing what you think is desirable: your direction in life, where you invest your energy, how you live and present yourself to the world
-the freedom to be a conspirator and delve below the general agreed upon ideas you come across every day, surprise yourself, be the contradiction that inspires, ask questions of yourself and come up with your answers

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Fri, August 8, 2008 - 1:13 PMHi to all my fellow Beauty Conspirators! All of your responses are awesome and each morsel of insight is provocative in its own right.....I love to see the dialogue bubbling..... Though I could write a dissertation on this topic - :) - here's a few of my thoughts to add to the already inspiring pot of thoughts.....
Conspiracy is binding together to create movement towards a unified goal…..Wanting to affect change even in the face of adversity and walking in confidence holding hands with the contradictions inherent in true beauty and the external standards of beauty that suppress rather than empower.
We cannot set boundaries for beauty, or expectations in our quest for happiness, thus the conspiracy lays not in rebellion, for the action is not a response, rather an innate drive to sow a path not traveled and gather in unity with those who want to conspire together through the unavoidable complexities of life that supply the duality of light and dark, positive and negative, and together we move forward to create and maintain the light that acts as a snowball to spread inspiration through positive thought and action.
If conspiracy rings negative, true beauty acts as the contradiction to the common image of what it is to conspire, the survival of true beauty is based on the ability to move forward with what is an honest reflection of self and outlook unaltered by the negative influence of a predetermined set of values and guidelines offered as roadblocks to prevent the blossoming of true strength, true vision, honest intentions and the power of beauty freedom.
Another point of discussion lays on why conspiracy is viewed as negative. To attempt to over throw the status quo, is commonly looked at as a negative attempt by those who identify with “the way things are”. Many social movements in the past (many of which continue on today) dealing with core issues such as racism, homophobia, classism, sexism, etc, were looked at as a negative movement against mainstream values of separatism and the hierarchy of value placed on human life based off of gender, race or sexual identity. In the life of any artist, scientist, scholar or other prominent figure who is ahead of their time it is common to mislabel their efforts for movement and change as upheaval of what is known, what is safe, what is accepted. Beauty Conspiracy takes the knowledge of system confinement and takes charge to change the image of beauty as a stagnant standard to a timeless, limitless well of inspiration, passion and drive that exists among us waiting to be noticed, held and appreciated.
There are many ways to look at the coupling of beauty conspiracy as a technical joining of two words, as a philosophy and as a concept that means something to each of us. Each point of view holds interest for me personally, which returns me to the point of establishing Beauty Conspiracy as a movement created by individual voices united towards living in a combined reality of inspiration and freedom. The essence of simply being is established through the release of binds and the surrender to the moments that inspire positive motion within and outside of us, to reach that surrender, the platform of freedom can be established through the loyalty to our core values and in joining with the people in our lives that share in that limitless vision of possibility, not conforming to what is expected. -

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Sat, August 9, 2008 - 7:51 PMRaq on with the Beauty Conspiracy Beauties!
I think Martha Graham articulated it best for me:
"because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. ... No artist is pleased. [There is] no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others"'

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Fri, August 8, 2008 - 9:46 PMMaybe the 'conspiracy' is that there must be a negative -- an imperfection, a conflict, contrast, the terrible, or even ugliness -- for beauty to respond and grow. Conspiracy is part of beauty. Without the pain, would we know the beauty?

Re: BEAUTY CONSPIRACY
Sun, August 10, 2008 - 2:59 PMAhhhh beauty. Beauty is such a subjective thing, the saying that ''beauty is in the eyes of the beholder'' is so true. Who really knows what defines beauty and if we even see the same thing at any one time. Beauty for me gives comfort to the eyes as well as the soul. It can be a sunset after a storm or a baby's smile. Beauty inspires me to paint, sing, write, dance and love.
I conspire with life to find the paths of happiness, love, trust and companionship.
