Anaid and I would officially like to invite everyone to the Mystic Dream store, in Walnut Creek, September 27th. Workshops will be held from 1-2:30p and 3-4:30pm , each $20. A hafla is scheduled in the evening from 7:30-9:00pm. We will have a tarot reader, vending by the Mystic Dream, and the lovely Geisha Moth!

Here are the workshops descriptions:

Tribal Style Basics: This workshop is designed for those will little to no knowledge of Tribal Style Belly Dance. We will cover four movements that are fundamental to this style of dance. Slow, medium and fast paced rhythms will be used to demonstrate and practice these movements.

Ritual In Belly Dance:
Using her experience as a priest in the Feri Tradition of Witchcraft, we will cover the basics of ritual theory and how this theory applies to dance. First we will begin with welcoming gestures. Then we will learn to set the space as sacred and make invocatory gestures to call in a force of power. By the end of the workshop you will have enough concepts and practices to develop your own ritualized performance. This workshop is suitable for the beginning level dancer but advanced dancers new to ritual will certainly gain from this.
