Hoops at the Artisan Gift Fair!
--------------------------------------------
This is my favourite gift/xmas/handmade fair in town, so I'm really excited to be on the other side of the table! I'll be selling adult and kid hoops on Saturday December 6th, and Sunday December 21st.
The Tranzac is located at 292 Brunswick, close to Bloor and Spadina, and is open 12-6 (the fair runs Saturday and Sunday for the first three weekends in December, I'll be there for just two days) and it's FREE!! It's full of fun happy stuff, knitting and screen printing and paper goods and honey and hand lotion and and and.... :) www.artisansgiftfair.com/
Wishing you happy times all bundled up....

Re: Winter Hooping!!
Sun, December 28, 2008 - 6:03 PMHey Sadie,
I just made a hula hoop for my daughter for a christmas gift. More as a joke to begin with than anything else...she's 18. Well let me tell you I had no idea how big the hooping thing was until i started to investigate on the net. When she saw her hoop on Christmas morning she kind of looked at me weird like "come on mom are your for real!" Well I showed her some of the hooping videos that I had found and now I think WE may be hooked....ha ha ...jokes on me!! I've ordered a beginner DVD from amazon and can't wait until it arrives. For now we've just been doing very basic waist hooping and getting the feel of hooping again...I'm not a kid anymore ;) Anyway, I realized after I had purchased the tubing that I actually bought the wrong stuff...3/4" 75PSI. We're making due but I think I'm going to get into my sons hockey tape and put a few rolls of that onto the hoops for extra weight. We both have pretty small hands so I don't think I want to go to 1" tubing but maybe step up the PSI. The tubing is not easy to find in my area and I don't think my husband will appreciate me filling the garage with 100' rolls of irriagation tubing hoping to stumble upon the one that suits us best! My daughter is hoping to take her hoop back to university with her but isn't sure if she'll have enough room as she is in an extremely small room in rez...she's not confident enough to take her hoop to the common room to practice. Thus being said I was wondering if you'll be planning any weekend spring hooping sessions that my daughter and I may be able to get to the city for??? Maybe by then I'll have mastered chest or arm hooping...still can't move it off the waist!
Happy hooping everyone,
