I love trees. I hug trees when my energy feels unbalanced. I can literally feel the tree almost giving me reiki! ~ unblocking chakra imbalances. Afterwards, I feel so different. I have found it really, really effective. I know it sounds kinda funny.... but anyone else discover this amazing nature resource? (I try to tell the tree I love him/her a little too)

Re: I hug trees
Mon, July 9, 2007 - 6:57 AMactually, i don't find that strange in the slightest. i love to absorb fresh reiki, mana, whateva you wanna call it from the trees, plants, earth. here in cleveland there's this guy dr. grossman who wrote a really great book on that very subject...he also teaches classes about it...anyhow, the book is called "to be healed by the earth" it's a really good read. also, i dunno if you've read "the celestine prophecy" but they talk about gaining energy from plants and trees etc. another great book.
loving you sister.....now go hug another tree...it's good for you!

Re: I hug trees
Wed, August 29, 2007 - 3:19 PMI don't hug trees so much as I pat them. I feel I get an idea from the trees where they would prefer to be touched, and I pat them there. And some trees want to be left alone. And sometimes, as I walk along, if I pat one I have to pat them all. Otherwise they will feel left out. They crave our comraderie just as much as we crave theirs. I tend to listen to all plants. Sometimes they will tell me their names. Well, whatever the English language equivalent is. I have been aware of this since I was still in my twenties. Seems like the older I get, the more in tune I am with all of them. They do bring me great joy, and I feel I give them something, too. -

Re: I hug trees
Tue, November 13, 2007 - 7:07 PMHey ladies,
I'm so glad to hear you understand the whole tree thing! Leelan that's cool there is someone who has written about it... maybe I can find the book one day, although I almost feel like I myself could write a short book on it myself :) I don't know if the human population is aware of what a grounding resource we have, although i think some do....(some people stare at me oddly when i'm hugging one) -

Re: I hug trees
Tue, November 13, 2007 - 8:39 PMWe have trouble thinking about members of the Plant Kingdom as possibly having any kind of intelligence. We scoff at people who hug trees because we don't assign any value on plants other than as a food source. I don't have emperical evidence that trees are sentient beings. It's just what I feel. My intuition tells me that trees and other members of the the plant world have varying degrees of intelligence just like animals do. All life brings different gifts. The ancients thought there were spirits dwelling in trees. Who's to say they were wrong? There's certainly an energy there, even if it cannot yet scientifically be proved.
