Hi everyone,

Has anyone here ever worked with the arboreal spirits of trees? I've always seen tree's in my mind's eye making
almost human like facial expressions to express their feelings. Has anyone else had this experience? I'd be very
interested in finding out.

I love trees. I hug trees when my energy feels unbalanced. I can literally feel the tree almost giving me reiki! ~ unblocking chakra imbalances. Afterwards, I feel so different. I have found it really, really effective. I know it sounds kinda funny.... but anyone else discover this amazing nature resource? (I try to tell the tree I love him/her a little too)
A History of Trees

An excellent and poignant series of documentaries, each one devoted to a particular species of tree. I managed to catch the first one before I left the UK in September - it was on my favorite - Taxus Baccata - the English Yew.
Hopefully these will be available on DVD - if anyone sees it - get it! - it's really good.

Otherwise - perhaps people can recommend other televisual or literary guides to trees?

In the last 6 months I acquired and read "A Natural History of Trees of
Eastern and Central North America" by Donald Culross Peattie, which is wonderfully written in an informative yet elegant prose.

Hi,

I've always had this thing as I child where I swore I could see a tree make an expression. The tree could be frowning, grinning, bored, thinking, guarding, watching, etc. Has anyone else had this experience?

It looks to me as though the barks are slightly different colours - hemlock being more brown...
anyone know of other ways to differentiate between the two?
