After we had workshops with Tjarda in February and were delighted and found her inspiring for freshness in the tribal fusion world, we all wanted more of Tjarda. It was a two way wish, so we have the pleasure to have Tjarda again in Croatia. Again there will be the opportunity to learn something different with Tjarda's unique approach...
Biography:
Tjarda is an accomplished dancer and trained teacher with a unique approach to bellydance. She has studied many genres of dance including Middle Eastern, modern, flamenco and mime as well as dance therapy and improvised movement. Fusing all of the above with her natural creativity, Tjarda delivers progressive choreography resonating within the world wide culture of movement. In March 2005 Tjarda became the artistic director and choreographer of The Uzumé, presently the leading Tribal Fusion bellydance company in Europe. The innovative and charismatic Uzumé have won several awards, including one for Best Dance Company. In 2008 Tjarda was nominated by The National Institute for the Voluntary Arts for Most Promising Upcoming Choreographer with Exquisite Skills. On a grant from NFPK she studied for six months in the USA with Mira Betz, Amy Sigil (Unmata), Suhaila & Jamilia Salimpour (both level 1 certified) and Heather Stants (Urban Tribal). Next to performing with Unmata in the UK and Holland, Tjarda studied intensively at Unmata’s Hot Pot Studios. Tjarda performs solo or with The Uzumé throughout Europe and the USA. Blurring lines and drawing inspiration from even the most unlikely sources, Tjarda is a choreographic force in today's Tribal Fusion Scene.
Flamenco Flavoured Fusion, Saturday, 29th August, 3:00 - 6:00 pm
A dance style that can also be characterized as a dance of many cultures is Flamenco, one of Tjarda’s biggest inspirations to incorporate in her own unique Tribal Fusion Bellydance. This colorful dance takes a lot of passion and strength to do and will provide you with lots of new Fusion ideas. In this workshop we will explore true Flamenco gestures and movement vocabulary to add to any style of Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Of course we will end the workshop with a challenging and powerful combination to get that Flamenco attitude…olé!
Modern Fusion, Sunday, 30th August, 3:00 - 6:00 pm
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to study modern belly dance with Tjarda. Her background in this dance form has given her unique insight to sharing the essentials of this great technique, dynamic presence and joy in her workshops. Tjarda will not only be teaching some fun and challenging modern fusion combo’s but will also teach you loads of technique and dance movement from this dance vocabulary to incorporate in your dance.
