Question: Would you be interested in a nicely produced multi-cam video/DVD of the Tribal Sands performance, along with extra footage from all the extra madness (desert dancing, riverboat trip, etc)? This wouldn't be a "for-profit" DVD... just a keepsake DVD for folks who attended the festival.
If there's enough interest, I'd love to become part of this magical Utah event, capturing and retelling the story through a keepsake video production.
This would be similar to what I put together for NOMI 2007 (a bit more of the extras in this case).
Alternatively, I could shoot individual performers if they wanted DVDs of their performance with options similar to what I offered at TribalFest '08.

So, it saddens me to have to say that it looks like I'll be shooting out at Northern Lights bellydance festival in Wisconson Dells that weekend and won't be joining the festivities at Tribal Sands '08.
I have other guys who could shoot, but without enough interest it won't work out this year... maybe next year it can be baked into the planning? I really do think it would be a blast to document the river boat, the performances and make a nice festival DVD for all the participants and supporters. -

"I meant to do that!" could be the mantra I suppose, reading about how much fun everyone had with it! Yeah, I've been to events where things just don't go as planned.. fortunately, with the right people, everything works out ! (a little redundancy and a backup plan can be helpful too :-)
Well, I'll just plant the seed now, almost a year early... if there's interest and support, I'd love to do up the video for the event next year... "Northern Lights" (which went on the same weekend this year) was a blast, and it's always a pleasure and honor to be a part of the festival magic, surrounded by such amazing and talented people.
