www.majmadance.co.uk. ULTRA GYPSY!!!
Don't book until I've got a place - or else!
Please do post events and classes that you think might be of interest. Emails I get saying I missed XXX because I didn't know until too late are really sad.
It's no good just emailing me with lists or newsletters as I might be too busy or too lazy to add them, plus the whole point of a tribe is to get lots of different people posting. It's not linked to any particular tribe or teacher. Tribal or nearly tribal can be interpreted very loosely. This is your tribe - use it!

Re: Teachers, Classes and Workshops
Wed, October 3, 2007 - 7:43 AMI host tribal workshop teachers mainly in Exeter, like Moira, Mira Betz and Suhaila lined up for next year!!!, but also other goodies such as Ozgen ( Male Turkish bellydancer extraordinaire) - this weekend Oct 6th &7th ( see events), and Khaled in July. My new tribe is;- tribes.tribe.net/worlddancegroove , please join to be kept up to date with all my workshops and events plus I want it to become a world dance network place.
When joining please let me know if you are a teacher/ performer/ part of a student group as I also have performance platforms at the Haflah and teachers can get discounts if they get 5 or more students to attend the haflah or workshops. Thanks. This Haflah we have flamenco, Salsa, and Bellydance performers!
I also teach in Exeter, Tiverton, and Thorverton, good strong technique American San Francisco Bay area trained. I include Suhaila Salimpour drillls in my class and floorwork, otherwise I touch on a lot of different styles depending on who I am currnetly into- I just like good bellydance! AM looking at getting an int/adv class together on Friday nights 8pm ish either exeter or tiverton to do more intensive Suhail drills in preparation for her intensive in June and to put choreographies together likeSam's gloomy Sunday or one of Ozgen's turkish cohoreographies to perform at the Haflah and wherever else we get invited. Let me know if you are interested, I'll probably start it a couple of weeks time.

Re: Teachers, Classes and Workshops
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 3:43 PMJacqui is teaching ATS at Altarnun, North Cornwall, Tuesday lunchtimes. It's a mixed group with complete tribal beginners and some dancers who've done a bit of tribal. Going back to the beginning is really interesting. There are so many things that one does a bit wrong or never completely understood. Come and join us.
Jacqui, where are your other classes and when? -

Re: Teachers, Classes and Workshops

Re: Teachers, Classes and Workshops
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 4:16 AMthat would be lovely but still a Little too far for me , I could drive an hour but 2-3 is too much :-(
I am looking for a venue to start a beginners Tribal in September, in Bath. -

Re: Teachers, Classes and Workshops
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 11:50 AMI would love a regular class too... but they all seem to be too far. I get a lot from attending workshops, (which, like most of us, I'll travel a fair distance for if it's a teacher I value), and my regular weekly mixed style class is great, but an additional regular tribal or fusion class would be perfect! -

Re: Teachers, Classes and Workshops
Thu, May 15, 2008 - 4:41 AMHi I teach in Yatton (in land from Clevedon M5 J20) - 2 hour workshops once a month ATS based on Gypsy Caravan. I have 20 or so dancers - mixed abilities meeting one Thursday evening a month. We also have drummers/musicians alongside the dancing and a troupe "Purple Mayhem" is forming - we will be performing from July onwards. From september that group will be closed to begiinners (ie will need tribal experience), but will be running other workshops on sagat, slow moves etc. Check website www.danceyourowndance.com if that helps!

Re: Teachers, Classes and Workshops
Tue, June 3, 2008 - 8:10 AMwanted to bump this thread up again,
I am planning a weekend intensive at a Yoga centre on Dartmoor, pretty perfect place, but scheduling the dates is a bit tricky as my touring schedule is a little on the insane side right now, I think it may be 2009. I wanted to see how much interest there would be from you local ladies? -
