James called me this morning to see if I could help him around here tomorrow. I have a training for work Wednesday morning, so We'll be back in Saint John Tomorrow night. I hitch hiked to the Ferry in Blacks Harbour, an hour drive from home. I got picked up after 15 minutes and the man took me straight to the ferry, even though he lives in St. Gorege. The detour took him 20 minutes out of his way.
Bed time. Futon. Fire place, water fountain bubbling, water bottle.
Got questions for James? I can ask him if you send them to me, or post them here and he can respond himself. He was looking through the posts in this tribe for the first time tonight.
My shoulders are sore from typing like this. Good night.

Re: Visiting James Bates, the owner of the ship
Tue, October 31, 2006 - 8:42 AMToday we'll do some work on the ship... greesing the masts.
I'll also make a video tour of the ship to show you all.
Several of you are coming this way soon to see the boat: Chris John, SJ, and Alex... anyone else want to visit? Maybe you can ride together? -

Re: Visiting James Bates, the owner of the ship
Tue, October 31, 2006 - 9:48 AMWhen are folks coming together to visit you and the ship? I hadnt thought or planned to go out there until next summer, but maybe it would be better to do a shorter trip/visit earlier than that, especially when there are other folks there also interested in this future adventure living and working together. But its hard for me to travel right now, living in SF Bay area for a few months.
And James, I look forward to meeting you, learning from you and spending some time helping you with work, in the gardens or wherever needed. Thanks so much for your help and interest! I look forward to whatever the future unfolds for us all. -

Re: Visiting James Bates, the owner of the ship
Mon, November 6, 2006 - 9:31 AMI’m in the process of winterizing things here and will pack up for the winter and head down the east coast to warmer spaces soon.
I will try to stay in touch through net but I’m just learning how to use it which makes me slow and takes more time then I can make available for it. Then there are times its not readily available where I go..
Things will start coming together here in May.
The first thing we will need to know is who is willing and able to commit to a time of arrival and what skills and experience they have.
It would be good for everyone to read up on the Huron’s tribal way of organizing and the way the pirates in the Caribbean did it and share that information with the others to come up with some articles of engagement. As free and easy as we would like to be I have found things run smoother when there is some frame work and someone responsible for keeping track of the finances and peoples physical input.(time worked)
I look forward to being apart of putting this adventure together. -
