Playlist getting a little stagnant? Try some Balkan beats. Here's a brand-new iMix for y'all:
Balkan Fun for Everyone (great for bellydance)
Playlist Notes: The relatively recent flowering of music in the Balkan region has produced an immerse array of new sounds now available to Western listeners. A wide dynamic range, a high degree of musicianship and a healthy dose of personality are the hallmarks of this genre. Balkan music has had a huge influence of the circus/carnival sub-culture developing in the US where it has a varied but enthusiastic following.
This iMix was designed both for listening and bellydancing. Sit back and listen or get up and dance. There are many songs appropriate for the adventurous tribal bellydance troupe (improv or not) and for innovative solo pieces.
From traditional brass, choral and folk music, to electronic and dance, we'll sample it all. Hope you like it!
