I had a lot of fun and was amazed at the elaborate costuming I witnessed. The music was fierce upstairs and actually pleasant down (a beast, I am). Props to Makita.
I also want to say that the B&B crew did an outstanding job with the decor and that I deeply appreciate all the hard work that went into it. I was there from the begining and could tell that things were a little stressful at first. You guys deserve major fucking props! Thank you.

Re: Thank You for Last Night
Tue, October 24, 2006 - 9:09 AMWah, mad props! It was a great time. Fun crowd, excellent music all around. I really enjoyed Jill Tracy's performance, I never get tired of watching her play the piano. I really admire that woman's talent. As always, the greatest thanks goes to Shatter and Megan, for successfully invoking this whole thing into existence for us once again.

I know you guys put yourselves through the wringer for this club - and I can't thank you enough. The amount of effort, originality and heart put into the event really shows... and I think you've created something unique and very cool.
Thanks again!

Tue, October 24, 2006 - 9:34 AMIt was really, really lovely. Jill Tracy was wonderful, as always. And even understaffed at the beginning of the day, everything really came together.
Thanks S&M (*chortle*)

Like many others here, I agree that you've created something very unique and cool here. I enjoyed the grace and beauty of it, unlike any party I've seen so far in SF.
However, I wonder about the timing... With so many other things happening around the Halloween period, and the fact that this party has so much class to it, I wonder if it wouldn't be better placed, better attended, and perhaps more lucrative around the December period to take advantage of Dickens Faire synergy, which has a similar feel and perhaps could be cross-marketed. Also, there is often less party competition other than Dickens itself during this period, and people do want to get out and party during the stressful Christmas shopping season. As a plus, it might be more attractive and lucrative for your vendors during said gifting season.
Just my $0.02 observations. Keep up the outstanding work! -

You havn't been paying attendtion...

It'll be the 3rd annual. We have 4 events per year, each one very different in theme from the others. Right now we have Grimm, Looking Glass, Fian Nox (Vampire Ball), and Beauty/BEAST. We're contemplatinga Charles Addams ball.
The Beauty/BEAST is a masquerade specifically because of the season. Seems this year a lot of others likes our idea from last year and this year because I've seen no less that 5 masquerade balls, of which last year there were none.

Fri, October 27, 2006 - 4:53 PMThat segue to "Silence" after midnight was awesome. People were talking on the sidelines when the opening strains came on and then everybody automatically flooded the dance floor.
