Waltz the night away in a beautiful candlelit ballroom with the San Francisco Bay Area’s most glamorous Undead at the 16th Annual Le Bal des Vampires.

Suggested costume is evening dress of the century and country of your “rebirth.” This may include dress uniform, period costume (authentic or fantasy), vintage attire, or modern evening dress. There is no dress code for the ball (We certainly don’t expect Spike to attend in black tie!), but you will see some of the most gorgeous and creative costumes of the social season at Le Bal des Vampires.

This year there will once again be simultaneous dancing on two separate floors:

Our band in the elegant upstairs ballroom is the stylish but always dashing chamber ensemble Bangers & Mash. As usual, haunting waltzes dominate the program, but the evening will feature a variety of dance music from across the centuries – from 18th century Baroque contredanses to 19th century Victorian rotary and Viennese waltzes, polkas, and mazurkas; to elegant early 20th century tangos, blues, and fox trots and even some classic rock and roll Swing. Please note that the band’s first dance set will start at 7:45 pm sharp – 15 minutes earlier than usual. The dance sets will be unusually long, even by Bangers & Mash’s high standards, so if you do plan to dance, please be certain to wear shoes or boots you can actually dance in.

For those preferring a more modern style of dance music and free-style dancing, join us downstairs in Le Bal des Vampires’ Dracula’s Daughter’s Discotheque for a wonderfully varied repertoire of music to stir the blood and spirit from 6:30 p.m. to Midnight. Hosted by our principal DJ, Dark Moon, the disco also features a no-host (cash) bar and light refreshments for our mortal guests.

Our half-time show in the ballroom is a performance by the celebrated Le Theatre des Vampires. Not recommended for the faint of heart but highly recommended for fans of the genre.

Don’t miss the most swinging ball of the season for those spies who live a life of danger and romance. Secret agents, femme fatales, megalomaniac villains and innocent bystanders are all invited to this musical tribute to the Cold War Secret Agent.

Sara & Swingtime play a varied and always suspenseful evening of vintage ballroom dance music, hot Swing, and cool blues, including a few secret agent movie song classics. Dance East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop, elegant fox trots, blues fox trot, and tango, the cha-cha and rumba, the night club two-step, and a number of truly haunting waltzes.

Suggested attire is vintage or modern evening dress or 1940’s through 60’s costume (from early Hitchcock to “The Avengers.”). Day dress is always perfectly acceptable for you innocent bystander types who have just wandered into the adventure and have, perhaps, seen too much for your own good! (Remember “The Man Who Knew Too Much”?!). In deference to Mrs. Peel’s impeccable fashion sense, the ladies may choose to adopt either traditional evening dress or a trouser suit!

There will be a no host (cash) bar, and a light snack buffet (your potluck contributions are very welcome! Even 00 operatives have to eat!). At intermission there will be musical and dance performances by the famous Danse Libre and notorious PEERS Flying CirCUS and dance music provided by our mystery DJ.

Arch-Chancellor Mustrum Ridcully of Unseen University requests the pleasure of your company at a grand ball in the University's Great Hall in honour of its current crop of graduating wizards (those who have actually managed to survive until graduation, that is!).

We are once again proud to announce that the evenings' guest band is Avalon Rising - one of the most magical dance bands on this or any other world - equally at home playing Victorian and vintage ballroom dance music, hauntingly beautiful Celtic and Celtic Fusion, and Renaissance rock (Yes, you heard that right!).

We will be dancing waltzes, polkas, schottisches, mazurka waltzes, reels, contradances, and other popular couple and set dances of the 19th century; some elegant Renaissance dances; and even some "music with rocks in it," as the Arch-Chancellor himself describes it. While some of the dances are choreographed set dances (which will be taught or called), others are open to free-form improvisation (Everything from free-style rock to Victorian polkas and Irish polka sets are some times danced to the very same music when Avalon Rising plays. We're not sure how, but think it's some form of magic!).

Fantasy costumes from the Disc World novels of Terry Pratchett, fantasy costumes from any universe, and, of course, magical or wizard costumes are admired but not required. Yes, here's your chance to sport your Harry Potter costumes! Guests may also come in period costume and still be in style. In the city of Ankh-Morpork, fashions range from Renaissance to Edwardian. Since the University also has a budding computer science department (which is a kind of magic in itself), Victorian Steampunk costumes (and gadgets) are also very appropriate. And, as always, vintage or modern evening dress is welcome.

There will (of course!) be a no-host bar and a light snack buffet (We know very well how seriously the Faculty of Unseen University take their meals, and your potluck contributions to the buffet are most welcome!).

Sir Percy and Lady Blakeney and her grace, Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, request the pleasure of your company at a ball in honour of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. M. Chauvelin, the witty but ruthless French Ambassador, will be there. Will his arch-nemesis – the daring superhero and master of disguise, the Scarlet Pimpernel –
also make an appearance? And what will the beautiful Georgiana wear to the ball? Only time will tell.

The Duchess decrees that late 18th century, Directoire, or Regency costume is admired but not required (The year is 1792 but she won’t hold you to that) and, as usual, modern evening dress is also welcome (Sir Percy has just invented it, after all!).

The celebrated chamber ensemble Bangers & Mash plays an evening of gorgeous waltzes and dashing but elegant 18th century French and English country dances. There will be a pre-ball workshop in 18th century country dance and early Waltz – highly recommended since we’ll be teaching some of the ball dances during the class. Those of you planning to arrive fashionably late, however, can be assured that all country dances will also be briefly taught and called during the ball.

Punch and a complimentary light buffet of French and English snacks will be served (As always, your potluck contributions are much appreciated).

For costume inspiration and background, we recommend “The Duchess,” (2008), the 1931 version of “The Scarlet Pimpernel” with Leslie Howard, and the less faithful but very pretty 1982 version of “The Scarlet Pimpernel” with Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour, and, of course, “Blackadder 3,” the third and most hilarious season of the British miniseries. The original “Scarlet Pimpernel” novel by Baroness Orczy is a fun read and available both online and in most good public libraries and there are several sequels still in print.

Dance, sing, feast and game at the season’s loveliest old-fashioned holiday party – a 12th Night Ball hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Bangers and Mash, the Bay Area’s most irresistible country dance band, will play a variety of Viennese and rotary waltzes, polkas, mazurkas, schottisches, the Lancers, reels, and other set dances popular in the early and mid-19th century (As usual, all set dances will be taught or called and partners are not required. Indeed, Introductions to partners will be cheerfully provided!).

Suggested costume is evening or day dress from 1837 through 1870 (the heyday of Dickens’ literary career), any class. Modern evening dress is, as always, a completely acceptable substitute for period costume, and there is no dress code for the evening. Ladies, if you’re wearing a ball gown or evening gown, please be sure to bring a wrap since the ballroom will be cold before the dancing starts. Once we start dancing, the ballroom warms up beautifully!

Intermission entertainment includes performances by the Peerless Music Hall (including some very French Cancan) and our guest of honour, Mr. Charles Dickens. Gamers may enjoy either an intellectual game of whist or a rollicking game of Wink, and the evening will conclude with a glorious Hallelujah Chorus sing-a-long.

Britain’s flag extends to Venus, Mercury and Mars!

Don't miss PEERS' third venture into the world of Victorian Steampunk: Space 1889 - a Victorian Ball in Space. Program your Babbage Analytical Engines, sail the luminiferous ether between the worlds to this Nineteenth Century science fiction ball, and keep Venus British!

The year is an alternate 1889 in which, thanks to inventor Thomas Alva Edison, computer engineer Thomas Babbage, software developer Ada, Countess of Lovelace, visionary scientists Herbert George Wells and Jules Verne, and many other distinguished men and women of science and engineering, the Victorians have air and space travel, high technology, computers (analytical engines), calculators (difference engines), efficient software (the versatile and elegant ADA), and even email (“electric messaging”). The Great Game has extended to Outer Space with Great Britain, Germany, Russia and those intrepid Americans rushing to colonize every planet in sight. Welcome to Space 1889. This is the milieu of our ball.

Join His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and His Excellency, the Governor of Her Majesty’s Crown Colony of Venus, for a formal ball to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of British rule on the planet. Diplomats, explorers, scientists and artists from Earth and from around the galaxy are cordially invited to attend.

Bangers & Mash, that most British of American dance bands, plays the greatest dance hits of the 1880’s, 1890’s, and early 1900's for an evening of vintage ballroom dancing. Dance beautiful waltzes, polkas, mazurkas, schottisches, reels, The Lancers, and some of those dashing new American dances (the Ragtime Two-Step and the Tango from Argentina). All “new” dances and pattern dances will be (briefly) taught or called, and partners are not required. For those of you wishing to brush up on the ballroom dances of the late 19th century, there will also be a pre-ball dance class at 7:00 pm.

Suggested costume is late Victorian or Edwardian evening dress, dress uniform (the year is technically 1889 but this IS an alternate universe so you can use your imagination), “Venusian” evening dress or science fiction/fantasy costume appropriate to the balls theme. As usual, however, costumes are admired, not required. You scientists, engineers, and inventors are also most welcome to bring your latest gadgets and portable inventions (We’d love to see your Victorian laptops, cell phones and pagers, for instance!).

We are honoured to announce a special guest performance by the Queen of the Venusian Trapeze and star of the Cirque de Venus, Ariyana le Fey, and an appearance by our guests of honour, the celebrated Le Legion Fantastique.

Le Salon des Refusés invites painters, models, artistic subjects, and interested members of the artistic-minded public to join us for an outdoor picnic, fete, and dance in shady, picturesque Lincoln Park.

Guests are urged to bring a period-looking picnic and plenty of beverages to sustain them through an afternoon of elegant but lively dancing. Since the picnic tables at Lincoln Park are at the opposite end of the park from the Rose Garden, where we shall be gathering, we suggest bringing blankets to spread on the ground for your picnic luncheon, and chairs or tables if you wish them.

Just for clarification: This event is not a potluck. Do bring your own luncheon! Our own chefs and their kitchen staff will be on holiday. To add to the fun and ambience of the event, we urge our fellow picnickers to make their picnic sites look as 19th century and picturesque as possible. For inspiration, we highly recommended the BBC miniseries, “The Impressionists,” which will also give you some great costume tips.

Mid to late 19th century dress (1860-1900) is admired but not required, and “artistic” costume, Pre-Raphaelite attire, or modern dress is also perfectly acceptable. Given the changeable nature of our lovely Alamedan Parisian weather, you may find it useful as well as ornamental to wear a hat or bonnet and bring both a parasol and a wrap. Since this is, after all, an informal event, straw boaters or even berets may take the place of top hats and fancy bonnets. Above all, please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes you can dance in outdoors.

After the luncheon, the always elegant Bangers & Mash will play an afternoon of 19th century waltzes, polkas, quadrilles, and French and English country dance music for your dancing pleasure (All pattern dances will be briefly taught or called). We are also pleased to announce that there will also be a special dance performance by the always delightful Alameda Vintage Dancers, who will be performing two excerpts from their “Renoir Suite.”

Artists, both professional and amateur, are encouraged to set up their easels and to invite their models. Witty, artistic conversation and elegant flirtation are also encouraged.

This event is a thank you to all of our devoted fans, and we will not be charging a fee for admission. Donations for our brilliant and hard-working musicians will be gratefully accepted, however, both before and during the event. We're off to see the Wizard at a ball in the glorious capital city of Oz. Come join us in honouring the singular courage of Dorothy Gale and her intrepid companions as they prepare to embark on their dangerous mission to the West.

There is definitely no need to stress about costumes for this ball. You have a huge range of choices: Fantasy costume, period costume (Medieval to Edwardian), or a combination of the two is admired but not required and, of course, green attire and costumes inspired by the Oz universe will be very welcome. While the ball is technically set in 1900, the citizens of Oz wear a variety of costumes ranging from Medieval gowns and tunics all the way up to late Victorian and Edwardian frocks and frock coats. Vintage or modern evening dress is also appropriate since the most unusual visitors do occasionally arrive in the Land of Oz.

Our Emerald City band is the Divertimento Dance Orchestra, a vintage dance band known for their elegance, authenticity and versatility. Dance music for the evening will range from graceful Edwardian ballroom dance music to the Great Wizard’s own favorite Ragtime tunes from his distant native star Omaha, Amerika. Dance waltzes, polkas, schottisches, reels, contradances, mixers and other popular turn of the century dances as well as the newer Ragtime one-step, two-step and tango. The Wizard will provide music for every taste (If you’re familiar with the 1939 film version of “The Wizard of Oz,” you will definitely recognize some of the tunes.).

For those wishing a brush-up in the latest dances, the pre-ball dance class will focus on the “new” dances of the Edwardian and Ragtime age: The lively One-Step, the sinuous One-Step Tango, the beautiful Hesitation Waltz, and the Turning Two-Step, an smooth and fun 1890’s alternative to the Polka.

The ball will also feature our famous No-Host (cash) bar, serving both alcoholic and soft drinks. The Wizard will also provide a complimentary light snack buffet (Your potluck contributions to the buffet are most welcome. The Emerald City is very expensive to maintain!).

Suggested costume is mid- to late-Victorian evening dress, dress uniform, or vintage or modern evening dress (the year is 1885 but please don't feel compelled to have a new gown made just for this occasion, ladies, unless you really wish to!). As usual, costumes are admired, not required.

Young ladies wishing to make their debut along with the Princess Louise are extremely welcome. Although the customary ensemble for a debutante is white, we can stretch a point for those preferring ivory or cream (and Her Majesty certainly won’t expel you from Court if you insist on wearing another colour). Ladies already "out," of course, have an unlimited choice of colors for their ensemble.

New Orleans’ most amusing host, M. Lestat de Lioncourt, invites you to a joyous Mardi Gras Ball in true Nineteenth century ante-bellum New Orleans style. To protect your reputation, masks are strongly recommended, and suggested attire is period costume (any period - but Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century fashions are especially fashionable!), fantasy Mardi Gras costume, or a fanciful version of period costume. Modern evening dress is perfectly acceptable, however, and there is no dress code for the ball.

For the festivities, our host has engaged the celebrated Parisian-American band The Baguette Quartette to play an exquisite mix of waltzes, polkas, schottisches, mazurkas, Les Lanciers and other popular mid-Victorian couple and set dances (both French and English), as well as the ever-popular Congress of Vienna Waltz and the new South American imports Le Tango and La Samba. As usual, all set dances will be briefly taught or called at the ball, partners are not required there will be a pre-ball vintage dance lesson at 7:00 pm, including 19th century rotary waltz and polka, vintage samba, and the turn of the century one-step tango.

Our charming host promises to entertain you at intermission with a performance by the celebrated Le Theatre des Vampires - the most innovative theater company in Paris – and a special appearance by Mr. Edgar Allan Poe himself. Waltz the night away in a beautiful candlelit ballroom with the San Francisco Bay Area’s most glamorous Undead at the 14th Annual Le Bal des Vampires held once again at the Alameda Elks Lodge, a stately neo-Colonial mansion with a stunning Edwardian ballroom, a photogenic Edwardian staircase, and a film noir style discotheque.

I had a lot of fun and was amazed at the elaborate costuming I witnessed. The music was fierce upstairs and actually pleasant down (a beast, I am). Props to Makita.

I also want to say that the B&B crew did an outstanding job with the decor and that I deeply appreciate all the hard work that went into it. I was there from the begining and could tell that things were a little stressful at first. You guys deserve major fucking props! Thank you.

Costume Ideas for Beauty and Beast

Unlike some of the other themes for the parties in the past, Beauty and Beast, really allows you to wear something completely different. We created Beauty and Beast to celebrate what people consider beautiful and ugly. This year I have chosen to wear an Indian Sari. For anyone still stuck on costume ideas, think of what you consider beautiful or ugly about yourself or society. I hope this post helps anyone still stuck.

Hi all:

There's a street fair on Webster street in Alameda this weekend. I just got back from it, and one of the booths is selling some lovely handmade masks, some with handles, mostly tie-ons. There's a variety of shapes, styles, materials (plastic, papier mache, some with fabric, veils, feathers, paint. Some are of Venetian hooknose style, etc.). Best of all, they all seem to be $20 or less!

That particular booth is over by Santa Clara street and Webster. The fair isn't huge, only a few blocks long, so easy to find stuff.

Make-up for the Vampire Ball

Makeup Tips for the Bleak
by Lord Damien Star
[taken from Ghastly Magazine, Issue 3]

Done badly, Gothic makeup and dress can look painfully stupid. The following are some suggestions for how to do it well.

1. Whiteface should create the illusion that you really are that pale, and not that you have a bunch of makeup from Wallgreen's caked all over your face. Use a good base: not even the most gifted makeup artist can get the necessary coverage from inferior makeup. If you have dark skin, don't try to do whiteface unless you're going for a very stylized harlequin look or are willing to put makeup on all exposed skin areas. Try using a base just one or two shades lighter than your own color, and then put white powder over it. This will give you an ethereal, almost grayish cast.

After spending money on a decent base, take the trouble to apply it evenly. It's appalling how many Goths overlook something so basic and vital to their entire aesthetic. Equally bad and unfortunately as common is the tendency to overpowder and to end one's pallor at the jawbone. Such mistakes are just inexcusably stupid. Don't make them.

2. On the subject of eyeliner, liquid is better, but if your hands shake, by all means use the most expensive pencil you can afford. Cheap pencils go on faint and will smudge after an hour. Do something original with your eye makeup: cobwebs or bat wings drawn across the cheek look silly on anyone over the age of fifteen. On those under fifteen, however, such adornments are sure to attract the lecherous attention of jaded Goths in their late twenties and early thirties who will probably give you free speed if you prove sufficiently pliable.

3. Find a shade of lipstick not everyone else is wearing. Theatrical supply stores are the best for really deep shades of congealed-blood red. Apply it with a lip brush for a more precise and severe effect.

4. Strive for originality in your costume. For those doing vintage looks, realize that both the eighteenth century and the Victorian era have been done to death. The Twenties, Thirties, and Forties are largely untapped by Goths and have great potential. One could dress as an emaciated, opium-addicted flapper from the Aleister Crowley set or pose as the Black Dahlia, a would-be actress from the Forties whose gimmick was that she dyed her hair black and would wear only black clothing; her ghastly mutilation and murder remain unsolved to this day. Also remember that black is not the only color. Deep blues, grays, and greens, as well as blood-red, purple, and ivory, can be equally striking.

5. If you have scars on your wrists from suicide attempts, by all means display them proudly. The same goes for bruises, cuts, and track marks. Abscesses, however, should always be coyly veiled in filmy black fabric.

Your Gothic look should be as opulent, decadent, and original as possible. If you're not up to making the necessary effort to carry off this most high-maintenance of affectations, try wearing plaid shirts and listening to Nirvana instead.

Where the future takes us

I was asked last night if I was going to post one of my after event rants.

Not this time.

Instead, I pose a question to everyone: Where do we go from here?

I ask this because ultimately, we will continue to do these events. That's not the question. The question is where will we do them?

We have limited venues availabel for this type of event. A lot of planning goes into everything in order to accomodate the requests people have made in th past. The current incanation of TN events has the following requirements-

Large main floor for the ballroom dancing, and room to twirl
Second dance floor for contemporary and ecclectic music to take a break from the gothic/classical of the main floor
Very specific themed events that the entire club has a look and feel of the event.
Door charge that reflects the quality we are providing

I would be lieing if I said I wasn't disappointed with Sunday night. There are 220 people on thsi tribe, and we had a turn out of about 80 people. Compaire dto the original Brothers Grimm ball with 130 people, this is a signifigant drop in numbers.

So I ask: What stopped you from coming out? Was it the 21+? Did you forget? Did we not promote this hard enough? Finals? Bridge? Forgot where the location was?

We moved to DNA lounge because they offered quite a few things we didn't have bfore, such as a very generous offer for rental, support and co-promotion. We also had an easier time with decorations because we went into a clean club and didn't have to cover up existing decorations. We did however, lose the 18+, though I have to say that the amount of 18+ that have come out before was negligable. This was what the motivation was for the switch to 21+. I fully believe in 18+, but if the under 21's don't come out, why should we go through the extra headache and limite dchoice of venues to have that option?

Do you guys like Glas Kat better? Is the fact we're on a sunday a major hinderance? We're doing sundays because we honestly don't know if we have the draw to support a friday or saturday night event with teh rent/bar guarentee's.

So please, voice your opinions and suggestions, we do listen to them and take thema ll to heart, and they weight out in every descision we make.

We're currently considering where to hold the 2nd Annual Fiat Nox/Zahn und Nagel (aka The Vampire Ball) and what day to have it. We try to book well in advance so that we can ample time to promote as well as have our choice of dates. Should we shoot for July or Augest? If we book a friday or saturday will everyone show up? What if we moved to a formal ballroom where age wasn't a factor? Should we go underground warehouse with this? Should we go bakc to Glas Kat because everyone knows it so well? Shoudl we stay at DNA?

Ultimately, it's up to all of you, because without you, there is no party, and as Alexander pointed out, we went over the top for this last party, and everyone who didn't show up really missed out in a big way. It was without a doubt our biggest and most elaborate event to date.

Through the Looking Glass: Afterglow

Thank you for creating a fantastic event! The decorations were more than ambience, they were beautiful and wonderlandishly strange and clever. The mushroom throne was extra fun. I love "props" that I can interact and play with. The tea party too, was more than a visual treat, it was a giddy place to act in character and play with more props, yippy! The mention of Earl Grey and, umm, Barley "tea" must have been censored out of the book. Wooden spoons, mustard, croquet mallets and balls, tea cups, burning tea cups, and bubble gun to play with = fun fun fun! Plus the poppers and cake for out un-birthday celebration! Dancing plus inspiring decorations plus themed activities and interaction was a fantastic mix. You guys made a Wonderful Wonderland. Thank you very much. Everyone who missed this event should take a moment to feel sorry for them self.

Advance tickets are available for PEERS' Toon Town Hop and what better way to spend April Fools' Day? As any cartoon aficionado can tell you, some of the very best film music is in animated films. In celebration of both the classic and modern age of animation, we invite you to the Toon Town Hop, a vintage dance ball inspired by our favorite cartoon music.

Suggested costume is vintage or modern evening dress (Mouse ears optional!). Guests may also attend as their favorite cartoon character, vintage or modern.

The dazzlingly versatile Divertimento Dance Orchestra will play a multi-period program of beautiful and energetic cartoon dance music from the 1920's to the present. As usual, waltzes will dominate the program but it also includes classic polkas, ragtime 'teens and 20's dances, Art Deco style Fox Trot, Swing, Tango and Latin dances, and other ballroom and set dances at this wildly varied event. As usual, all set dances will be taught or called at the ball, partners are not necessary, and there will be a pre-ball vintage ballroom dance lesson covering some of the "newer" dances on the ball program.

For us diehard dancers, our Toon Town DJ James Shattuck will provide his usual unusual mix of fun and always highly danceable music during the intermissions.

Other intermission entertainment includes a vintage dance performance by the PEERS Flying CirCUS. We're also please to announce the return of our famous Toon Town No-Host Bar and our notorious TV snack buffet (As always, your potluck contributions to the buffet are very welcome).

Acting Out

Our next event will be the Second Annual Brothers Grimm Fairytale Ball. This event celebrates two of the original collectors of children's horror stories. This event does not exclude other classic children's horror fairytales. We plan to hold the Ball in February.

I just wanted to encourage anyone who feels the need during the night to "act out" any of the fairytales, please go ahead.

At our first one last January we had Little Red Ridding Hood being chased by the Big Bad Wolf, Sleeping Beauty being woken up (that was funny cus it was the hunter that woke her), Snow White being tempted by an apple......everyone just started acting their characters out randomly and it made for a fun time.

Everyone getting excited?

We've got some 6+ boxes of decorations to haul down and set up.

We'll have more candles than ever before.

Best part: The bridge Closure won't effect us! Even though teh reports say Sunday, it's Sunday AM (Sat night), so for everyone avoiding the brindge tonight and tomarrow, Fear Not -- No problems getting home after Beatuty/Beast!

Dress in your finest attire to accentuate all that you have been blessed with. As this is a masquerade ball don't forget the most appropriate mask for the evening.

The ugly side of life. The ugly, the wretched, the disesed and the disgusting. Ugly music for profane people. All the is blaphemous and wrong with the world shall be presented here.

Masks will be required to prevent to good people from vomiting upon meeting you dreadful gaze.

(Now, some of you will be yelling WHAT! MASK? Look at the date. It's mid October. Fear not, the Spirit stores and Halloween HQ will be in full swing. If you can't find something you really life we'll fully accept a masic black lone ranger style mask. It's fine, however the more effort you put into this, you'll get out of it. Bottom line thsi is a halloween party before halloween. Have some fun with it!)

Masks

I just got my mask today from Mask Italia, Inc. My mask is amazing. I'm very happy. They import handmade Italian masks. I talked to Jessica forever and she was a huge help. The first one she pulled out was exactly what I was thinking of getting. They will be having a booth set up this Sunday at the Castro Street fair. They don't have a store front but if you call 415-409-4743 you can see all their masks on 2090 Chestnut Street in SF. Their masks are also on their website www.maskitalia.com. They also do custom orders as well.

So ya, figured we could use atribe. Lots of talk, planning, etc.

lemme know what you want to see in this event. Your input is valued as I want to make sure everyone gets what they want from it. The basic format will stay the same, though the details are totally dynamic.
