A hint,.... he died in the ocean, presumed drowned, his body was never found, and has a swimming pool named after him..
Oh – the irony..
where: victoria
abt when: the 70's
"Harold Edward Holt CH (5 August 1908 – presumed dead 17 December 1967) was an Australian politician who became the 17th Prime Minister of Australia in 1966. His term as Prime Minister was dramatically ended in December of the following year when he disappeared while swimming at Cheviot Beach near Portsea and was presumed drowned."

Many theories surround Holts disappearance – including that he was picked up by Russian or Chinese submarine and also UFO’s picking him up (on book has him as a PRC Spy).
Despite his body not being found - it is generally accepted he drowned. Most say “accidcent” but there is also a theory he committed suicide – for he had been depressed prior..
No official federal government enquiry was conducted, on the grounds that it would have been a waste of time and money.

“Holt is most famously commemorated by the Harold Holt Memorial Swimming Centre, a swimming pool complex in the Melbourne suburb of Malvern. The complex was already under construction at the time of Holt's death, and since he was Malvern's local member it was named in his memory, although the irony of commemorating him with a swimming pool has been the source of much amusement to Australians.”
