Re: Rice Paddy Art
Thu, November 5, 2009 - 12:48 PMThe Thread's Title Reminds Me of a Certain Novel Series I'm Currently Reading, Called "The Corps" by W.E.B. Griffin, a Noted Writer of Fiction About the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea, the OSS & CIA (OSS During WWII & the CIA Beyond), the Philadelphia Police Force, U.S. Special Forces, etc... In "The Corps", Griffin Focuses on the U.S. Marine Corps (& CIA) During the Korean War. One of the Main Characters is Shot Down Over North Korea During a Locomotive-Busting Run. He Stamps Out His Initials (the Inital of His Nickname & the Initial of His Surname) in Rice Paddies, Which He Drains (Not an Easy Task, esp. w/ the Koreans Using Human Feces as Fertilizer.) He Also Stamps Out an Arrow in the Paddy (Sometimes He Goes in the Direction of the Arrow He Made, Sometimes in Another Direction Entirely). He Actually Evades Capture by the North Koreans for Over Two (or was It Three!?) Months Until He's Found & Rescued. -
