Alone, cooped up in a small room, you sit in front of your computer all day on tribe, with occassional breaks to play an on line game, eat junk food, drink soda, and shit. But mostly, you just sit at your computer, logged on to tribe.net
Eventually, after 20 hours of computer time, you must rest. You turn off the computer. At which point, your 100 virtual friends disappear as your computer screen goes blank. Now to sleep, that lonely, fretful, empty sleep.
You will only sleep four hours before you get back up and resume typing to your virtual friends.
This is your life and you like it this way.
But the question gnaws at you. Where are your friends after you turn off the computer?
If you never logged on again, would they even care?
The answer is "no."
