the tropical hoedown with honkytonk homeslice & friends was in puerto viejo last year. i've heard nothing but great reviews of the town. did anyone go, or have anything to add? here's a review of the town i found at www.vacationcity.com/costa-r...o-viejo/

i think these folks helped out a lot with the tropical hoedown Aventuras Bravas Costa Rica Adventure at www.aventurasbravas.com/
this is the site they created for hths www.aventurasbravas.com/homeslice.html
wherever we go it would be nice to have someone local to at least scout things out for us.

I was at the Hoedown last year and had a great time. But that is why I would suggest something new. I would prefer to travel somewhere new. Did anyone here go to the Quepos Cheese shows? I wasn't at the Cheese shows. I've been to Costa Rica a couple of times and personally, I would prefer the Pacific Coast to the Caribbean Coast. But as I just joined the list out of interest, you should definitely check out Puerto Viejo. It's a great setup for a musical adventure. So that was a long rambling that talked in circles, so there you go =)

Puerto Viejo is an awesome "little?" town. Albeit the last time I was there was in 1993 so I am sure, and have been told by those who have been as of late, it has grown in size and development. I look forward to a return trip there someday and HBR would be a welcome excuse to make said trip.

We went. Lot's of fun. Some difficulty geting to/from but really no big deal.

I, too, would prefer a different destination. Quepos for us is one of those: Been there, done that things, but I am quite sure many would have fun.
