has been teaching Oriental Danse or Raks Sharki in her Lebanese family tradition of dance since 1980. Jamileh Malika translates into Dancer Queen. This group perfoms for festivals and charity events. The empowement of a group enhances the feel the rhythm of life and to travel the labyrinth of creation.
Women have danced from the dawn of history to celebrate marriage, fertitlty and childbirth. The mothers of modern daunce, Isadora Duncan, Ruth St. Dennis and Martha Graham used ancient dance to envoke the female archetype. .
This group is currently exploring tradtional arabic, tribal fusion, gypsy dance and artistically created costuming.. We welcome women of all ages and abilites to celebrate the Goddess Spirit.
