I found this web site: www.radiobastet.com that has vintage belly dance music. I have been listening to it for the last 30 mins and if you are interested in George Abdo, or other old style performers, then you need to listen to this site. The podcasts are free. Marisa is a dancer in Portland who has taken it upon herself to make these recordings. She is also on tribe.net!!

Tue, February 13, 2007 - 3:54 AMI love it! Patty has one album I love from the early 70's that mixes Arabic and this weird space music sounds complete with a blast off. I want to choreograph a sort of Arabic Amazon women on the moon dance! -

Re: Vintage Belly Dance music
Wed, February 21, 2007 - 6:34 PMI know the one you mean! There is another one, that I think is on one of Salaam's cd's that has a 1960's vintage feel to it. I have vision's of the Austen Power's Fembots doing bellydance!
