What is to be Happy ? Is that a feeling , or just another state of the mind that wonders this feeling on certain experiences or just images of something that makes us humans feel painless. It is like if you have tasted what is hapiness then you will know when you are happy, and joyfull. But what happens when you only have tasted hapiness in a non painful way, is that the true meaning of it? Well I guess not because in order to experience happiness you had to first experience nonhapiness , to then be aware and give value to it. Treasure the bad moments makes youre god moments worthless.
But now we come to the point if hapiness is then achieve , it is an individual achievement, or those the colective people that are around us are part of that suppose self achieve hapiness? Do we depend on others to achieve that hapiness or are we capable on getting it only by ourselves and to ourselves? If Yoga is union , and we are practicing in the self to then reunite with the whole , then the self is not only an individual identity, it is the whole , the multiplication of every self . Is then a colective experience that is gathered when you are aware that none individula are working for themselves but on others as well. Then you feel not only the hapiness of everything but the sadness too. Achieving true hapiness is to feel the hapiness of every living or non living thing that is around you and yourself. Can we taste this true feeling in some point , so then we realize that all experienced hapiness before has been an ilusionary state of the self minded ego? Are we willing to look let go and get to a unified hapiness ? I dont know , but all I can say is that if one day for only a breef couple of seconds every human on this planet feels that union only then he would be willing to let go of everithing to live in that stae for the rest of his time . So until that day comes we are lonely people searching for something to give us true hapiness or find that soulmate that can makes us achieve that union with at least one living thing. Being in that path is what keeps every breath going on and on. Yeah Sutras are just an amazing flow of making us aware of things or subjects that were not into our revolted mind.

Re: How Hapiness Works
Fri, July 21, 2006 - 2:37 PMhappiness is not achieved by external validation, that is, by expecting someone else to love us and make us happy.
we are all part of everything. by taking care of our self, nurturing our self, we are automatically giving love to everything around us, because we can project that love on to others. if we don't do this, we cannot truly love.
for we are all but mirrors to eachother. looking into a loved one's eyes, and feeling that love, that connection...we need to realize that it is an illusion to think we are seeing their love. what we are really seeing is the love and hapiness that is inside of us. we are the mirror. we feel the love..it is inside, coming from within.
there is love and there is pain.. when we go against the flow, the current, when we don't accept, we suffer. we can choose to suffer the pain or observe where it comes from with love and acceptance. happiness is accepting that we are all made up of positive (love) and negative (suffering) forces. acceptance and empathy of these is what bring us true happiness.
cherishing in all, LIFE.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. -

Re: How Hapiness Works
Sat, July 22, 2006 - 8:16 PMAs mos Def said in his song "LOVE"
" i start to think and then i sink into the paper, like i was ink
when i write and im traped in between the lines
i escape when i finish the ryhme
LOVE"
A zen say say when we want something that we do not have we feel sad ( unhappy) due to the desire of somthing we do not possess. Eventually we can can anything we want. Once the desire is acheived or the obect is acquired... we feel happiness. We are tricked into thinking this happiness stems from the desire or the obect of desire. This happiness comes from the absence of desire itself.
Non attachement to what is around us... even the desire to be happy will bring sadness. Detach. Some say count your blessings. We truly are enlighten beings.... especially to be on the path we are on in this day in age (Kali Durga). Soldiers of peace. Strong warriors of conciousness. Holding our smiles proudly.
As we dance in between the little self (ego and all that jazz) and the Big Self (godhead, collective concious) We will naturally find contridiction. It is an art and skill to find an understanding of the greater macrocosim... but how do we explain something so big inside the microcosom of language which is confined into your mind/ body
Would your soul even have something to say... ?
Its easy to describe things using our senses... sight, touch, taste, ect... but beyond this how does it "feel". we know there is somthing beyond but puting language to this is a challenge... maybe even unnessesary.
We are connected to each other by this same type of unspeakable energy ... felt through the eye contact. felt behind the meaning of the voice... We need to tune into this frequency. The world is eternaly happy. It is our egos that make us feel as though we could destroy the earth. The earth will destroy us with a sneeze... We must connect with the earth and nature.. find ourselves moving back TOWARDS the source... instead of away.
Happiness is easy to achieve... holding on is another trick. Climbing past the simpler parts of yoga is done with faith and personal experience...
Happy pebbles in our minds lake
Ripples expanding through all we create
In through sun and moon
Out the feelings pour
The time is coming soon
Bliss of the opening door................
