Reyhan Tuzsuz will be coming from Turkey to teach traditional Turkish Rom

Cernik's camp and Hadia's Turkey tour. She is the real thing, and this is her first time
ever leaving Turkey to teach! She does not speak English, and one of her students, Jennet

    I don't think anyone understands....

I lived in Istabul studying with Reyhan for a few months. She is awesome. Yes, and if you are looking for authentic Roman dance, look no further. I miss her and her family, please anyone who sees her tell her Sarah says hello and I love you and miss you. Wish someone could sponsor her out to California.

It is amazing that she is in the US, most people don't realize the hoops the general population of Roma have to go through to travel to certain countries.

        Hi there,

Anyone wishing to contact Reyhan can do so at: reyhanroman@hotmail.com
She speaks no English but her assistant Jenet is answering emails.

Jenet and I were attempting to take Reyhan this spring '08 to the states but that didn't work out. These tours are indeed very difficult to sort out. Now, Jenet may be shooting for a fall tour, so if you would like to help sponsor a stop this would be a great time to let Jenet know. The more people to help make it happen the better.

Drool. If she stops anywhere in the northeast, I'm there! Although my (selfish) vote would be for Boston. If you have any info (how many students she'd require, appx. what she'd charge) PM me, and I'll start talking to the workshop sponsors in my area.

Please please contact either Jennet or me (Kostana) if you are interested in sponsoring Reyhan and her husband, Husnu in the Fall. We are looking at a possible tour in the Fall, probably end of October, beginning of November.
In the meantime, for those on the East Coast and those who can travel out here, REYHAN IS COMING here to Herdeljezi Festival in Washington DC, teaching 1 1/2 hour class at the festival on May 17, and 2 hours on Sunday, May 18 in DC area. She will also teach a workshop at Drum & Dance Learning Center in NJ on Monday, and will be teaching in NY too.

Here's the link again, I hope it works - if not just do a search on youtube for Reyhan Tuzsuz.
It's their promo video with footage of last year's festival in it....
I am trying to put together more footage of the festival, because we have some great stuff with Seido and Ismail playing clarinet and davul while Steve is leading a line dance. It's freakin amazing.
        Seido can do anything!
Also Reyhan is teaching a 2-hour workshop on Sunday, May 18 after the fesival if you want maximum Turkish Rom!!!!
I haven't announced the local yet - trying to get a space for free - but it will be somewhere in the DC metro area....
        see you soon!
