I just downloaded Nomads of the Silk Road off of amazon and one of the tracks seems to have a serious dump cut. Rumelaj, which is one of my favorite songs, is only 2:39 and it just ends mid-phrase. Any thoughts on this? Does anyone have the full version and how long is it actually supposed to be?
Thanks,
Tayissa

Re: rumelaj?
Sun, February 22, 2009 - 3:17 PMIt is a short song too simple to make into a longer track, and ends in an odd place.

Re: rumelaj?
Wed, February 25, 2009 - 6:49 AMnot sure. there was alot of debate among the Balkan music people about the meaning. if i remember correctly, the dialect was Bojas (i probably misspelled that, the s needs a little swish thingy that indicates an 'sh' sound) which is a smaller tribe. some said the song was just calling to his sweety, some argued that it was saying, 'come here and let me get a handfull.'
as far as i'm concerned, it is the dancer that intrerpets the song, so let her hear what she will, no matter what the songwriter had on his mind.
