Brother and Sister Elders. In this process we are involved in; creating the 7 New Tribes (Tribal Nations) I have been given the insight that within these Tribes there will also be representative Clans. Based upon a Clan Totem they will be empowered with the energy, wisdom, and virtue of that Totem.

Please refer to this earlier thread in which we discussed our Totem animals. Please add your input; especially if this thread was from a time before you joined the Sacred Circle.

Many years ago I was initiated into the Seneca Wolf Clan Teaching Lodge. I was later made a teacher of the Teaching Lodge. Among the many things learned and taught were stories about the clans and how they came into being.

Among many Original Nations there often were eight Clans. Each Clan had a teaching lodge. When a child reached age 7, they would have their first vision quest. What they experienced at that time would, in part, help them determine which teaching lodge to go to first.

Each Clan had a basic lesson. Bear Clan taught about medicine. Hawk about sharing. Heron taught farming. The Wolves were teachers of the teachers and taught of family, and so on. Each child would go to each clans "school" for one year, then the next, until eight years had passed, and the child was 15 and an adult and ready to marry. It was a very sensible and complete way to learn what you needed to know to be a complete and fully functioning member of your Nation. ...Each able to be a good parent, and healer, and farmer/gardener, hunter, decision maker, and so much more.

I have often thought that within our Teaching Lodge it would be nice to have "Lodges" of our Teaching Lodge. Places or groups that "specialised" somewhat more in particular areas of learning/teaching/doing. Among the many hundreds of Teaching Lodge members, I was one of the better organic farmers. I have taught many classes and had many visitors here, to "spread the good word" about Love of Earth.

I have always thought of my farm as the Heron Lodge of The Wolf Clan Teaching Lodge.

Once again thank you Jim. This is most helpful. I was given an understanding of this by my Ancestor and this Council's Patron Talking Smoke. However I could never have explained the knowing I received as eloquently as you have. One thing that I did understand clearly was that we will have 12 clans, within the Tribal Nations. They will be structured very much as you have described.

I have also been given to know that one of these Clans will be the Clan of my totem the Octopus. It will be our "Intelligence" Clan. It will be responsible for seeking out and investigating both opportunities and threats to our Tribal Nations. Aspects of its Teaching Lodge will resemble the Dojo of Ninjitsu. We are going to be challenged whether or not things completely collapse. The current Power Elites will become more and more dedicated to undermining any of us who pursue the new paradigm. In the "lighter" aspects of this Clan's operation it will go forth and find groups and individuals who can become our allies and offer us talents and knowledge we will need for the execution of our vision and mission.

The following is a link to the thread I mentioned before. In this post I described the characteristics of the Octopus.

Hey, this is a beautiful lesson in education. How different from the schools of today. It seems that this way of living and educating in the arts of farming, medicine, sharing, decision making etc.. is one that will slowly permeate our culture as the chaos wobbles current paradigms. It is what we NEED now.

Education currently is still rooted in the old Prussian system where they trained the masses to be obedient, to learn things by rote and sit in classrooms facing the leader.. the pyramid system. This system was devised to train the mankind as soldiers. Prussia's greatest export at the time was military power.. almost like a mercenary supplier.

The system is also based on teaching people how to make money.

Academic skills are still more highly valued.. instead of teaching all people to be healers and wellness promoters, it picks out the academically bright and sifts a few to go to med school. Instead of teaching all people how to counsel and facilitate their fellow men, they train a few in psychiatry which offers drugs to suppress depression, which is the real pandemic of this current society. Instead of teaching all people how to grow food and live off the land, no matter how small a patch, they bombard us with hormone and chemically infected meat, junk and processed food and sugar and then they charge us lots of money to get well.

We need to spread the word and change the way people are educated.. thus breeding a generation that will be capable of living in the world that will form as this one topples.

Around the world there are people gathering virtually and in reality, spreading the word that the time for change has come. The Mayans prophesied the shift and acceleration in human consciousness and thus emergence as more enlightened beings. This acceleration in awareness, promoted by the information age, has led to more and more people being made aware of how life really works.

We do it in different ways, through different schools of thought and practise, but we are all preaching the same message.. Live in respect for the rest of the world and act out of consideration for the greater good and follow your personal bliss.

The earth is screaming out in pain, trying to rectify the ills we humans have perpetrated.. turbulence, chaos, breaking down of current systems... will all lead to people embracing a different way of living more akin to the way the indigenous people lived.

Thank you for highlighting this wonderful way of learning about the world and a way that should be adopted more and more so that people are equipped for the changing times.

And instead of an economy based on money and stealing and hoarding natural resources we need one based on resources.. www.thevenusproject.com a division of the abundant resources, a teaching of how to harness the earth's bounty and repay more than we take and basic needs of shelter, energy, wellness, community and nutrition taken care of so that we can get on with the business of using our amazing brains to create a world worth living in and leaving for future generations.

      with love and blessings
