My tuxedo kitty is the youngest of 3 cats. Him and my oldest cat,Cyruslynne, have never gotten along. If anyone has any suggestions to remedy this problem, let me know. Moving
on.... We named him Sneakers because he is always sneaking up on you and startling
you. He has always needed to be with me when I go into the bathroom. He used to sit
on my lap while I was on the toilet but has grown out of that. Now he just sits with me. If
I get in there without him, he pokes his paw undetr the door so I will know he is waiting,
as soon as I open the door, he rushes in to see what it was that he missed. He is totally
attached to me and will follow me back and forth from room to room no matter how many
trips I make. I have never had a cat that was so devoted to me. Are all tuxedo cats like this?
He is my ffirst tuxedo cat so I am clueless.

Re: sneaking tuxedo style
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 11:26 AMIt's funny that you mention this- we have 2 tux's...the older male is classic cat- indifferent to us, especially if it's OUR idea to play- he has to initiate any fun or petting. Washu however is a younger female- we call her the puppy cat- she comes when called, follows you everywhere and always has to be part of the action and the conversation....no matter what she is doing she is speaking as well, from little chirps to full out siamese style yowling.
My husband and I have lived with cats all our lives, but we have never known a cat this involved with day-to-day life!

I will say Tuxedos DO have unique personalities.
From eccentricity to downright Kato -like (Pink Panther) behavior.
Don't know if your kitties are rescues, but I have noticed that my "foster cat"
KingPin has his hunting instincts intact. He's now 4yrs., but most tend to outgrow
their feistiness as they grow older.
My belated "feline son" Rageous was rambunctious until hitting 10yrs. (that's about 70 human yrs. I believe!)
Have you done anything, or notice any change in behavior since this post?

Re: sneaking tuxedo style
Fri, August 8, 2008 - 2:20 PMOur chubby, elderly Tux (17 years) Basha enjoys lecturing us when we walk into a room or when she walks in. She'll seemingly bitch us out for whatever infractions we've done, food issues, water level, etc... all the other housemates have mentioned this to us, like they did something wrong.
I tell them why YES, they've done something wrong! PET THE CAT already!
