What are you guys all up to? I'm freaking out because we're starting in on our most ambitious shows to date, "Uke-y Stardust II - The Heretic".
Get ready. This will be the biggest Uke-y ever and also... the last.

Re: "Quiet in here, isn't it, George Michael Dolenz?"
Wed, April 25, 2007 - 12:34 PMKelly,
Two questions:
1) When you say the last Uke-y, you mean the last Uke-Y Stardust? As in David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust? Not as in a last event involving ukulele playing? I would think that would be premature, I mean, you haven't done a set/performance of non-amplified music, a ukekustic show, or a Fleetwood/Flukewood Mac tribute (I think a Tusk-based show would be great...)...
2) and lastly, but firstly, why the mention/reference to George Dolenz?

Re: "Quiet in here, isn't it, George Michael Dolenz?"
Wed, April 25, 2007 - 4:30 PMKelly, baby, I wasn't born yesterday... I know who George Dolenz is : ) .... I just wanted to know why you specifically mentioned him in your heading (i.e. "Quiet in here, isn't it, George Michael Dolenz?") as opposed to anyone else... Aaron Burr, Mao Tse Tung, Charlie Manson, whoever... just semed like an interesting choice of a name to use...
2) The last Ziggy show. I'm speechless (which, for me, ain't easy)...

Re: "Quiet in here, isn't it, George Michael Dolenz?"
Wed, April 25, 2007 - 5:20 PMOh! Well, you see, it's a line from one of my favorite movies, "Head". Mickey is shirtless in the desert (for no apparant reason) and the voice of God says, "Quiet, isn't it, George Michael Dolenz?"
Then he blows up a Coke machine with a bazooka. -

Re: "Quiet in here, isn't it, George Michael Dolenz?"
Wed, April 25, 2007 - 6:41 PMOk... now I understand... gotta get me some head.... the movie, that is, I never seen it but I've seen enough references to it that I oughta know better... sort of sounds only vaguely reminiscent in a non-sequitor kind of way to the scene in Dr. Strangelove where one of the Peter Sellars characters has a befuddled American soldier break into a Coke Machine so he can take a dime from it with which to call the President.... -
