Fri, September 14, 2007 - 6:38 PMThanks so much for the pimpin' handoff!
Yeah, Tribe has gotten tough because at work it's now classified as "porn" (which makes me oddly proud) and I can't see it anymore.
I do have, now, not one, but TWO gigs coming up! One is October 20th with our good friend Tippy Canoe and a bunch of dudes from from the Boston "Ukulele Noir" scene... www.ukulelenoir.com/pages/no...oast.html
And another one is on the 27th at the, get this, SF Comedy Club at 50 Mason as part of the Jennifer Justice Show!!!

I don't know what I'll be doing for this second one, but I suspect it will be Negro Spirituals. Stay Tuned!!! -

Thu, September 20, 2007 - 3:28 PMNegro spirituals? Really? Fascinating.... If I find them in my storage (probably filed under F), do you want me to lend you my From Spirituals to Swing cds? I also have some early Paul Robeson stuff. I also have some great ribald/very bawdy recordings of Jelly Roll Morton which he did in 1941 at the Library of Congress, but whose songs date from a lot earlier....
