Do you think all humans are made with the equal capacity for depth ( or intimacy or love or fearlessness ) or are we born different?
Is it that some people don't dig their own depths or they actually don't have them to dig?
I tend to think we all have the same abilities , some just use them more than others. But I don't know.
By depths , I don't mean deep pain that can be learned from. Although that is a way to depth. But so is a happy go lucky child who can teach much about lightness and air and love.
I mean the amount we have to offer the world. Do we have equal amounts of depth?

Re: Equal amounts of depth?
Fri, July 18, 2008 - 5:39 PMi think we're all capable of deep thinking but i think we're actually more built for deep feeling.
but as feelings are often powerful and profound, and thusly scry to a lot of people,
i think a large number of people just refuse to feel as deeply as they can for fear of becoming lost or overwhelmed.
on the other hand, there are plenty of people who refuse to think, either from the same kind of fear or out of sheer laziness,
since thinking will no doubt lead to feelings.
personally i'm an unabashed feeler with the head of a thinker.
fortunately, I dig it.

Re: Equal amounts of depth?
Fri, July 18, 2008 - 6:40 PMWe *should* have equal capacity for depth but some
of us just use these more than others.
One could say that it has to do with our Astrological chart,
some psychology, cultural background, our setting, etc.
There are tons of variables mix in composites that go
to make our 'samskara', ie: karmic 'heritage'. -

Re: Equal amounts of depth?
Sat, July 19, 2008 - 9:32 PMI agree with all of this.
I think we are born with equal amounts of depth, and as Mark points out,
factors, and to me, experience and background determine this level.
As MaryEllen says, that is a perception and opinion.
Deep feelings are recognized and expressed in different level and interpretations, and deep thinking is sometimes not perceived until a later point, often by the thinker themselves.
