Greetings all!
Just a short note to introduce myself: I am an artist and vet tech who lives in NYC and practices garden herbalism in my teeensy backyard, as well as other "rural" and/or "sustainable" methods of living. This has made for an awesome and rewarding life in an otherwise hectic life.
It occurred to me, after discussing issues of "green living" and simple living with my fellow frazzled New Yorkers, to create an online magazine to expound on several aspects of bringing the country/green life to urban areas. Accordingly, I am looking for people to eventually contribute articles about this issue. You can see a verrrrry early (and under construction) version up at BigTownFarmer.com
Anyhow...hopefully this doesn't sound too spammy, as I would like to correlate some of this work to this board, but I am not sure....in the meantime, I am currently looking for someone who would like to write about all natural winter beauty products. You may email me for more details if you are interested
I also had a question myself...for awhile, I've had good success with herbs in the garden but was intrigued when a friend mentioned creating a "fall herbal garden". Is there really such a thing? New York gets pretty cold, so I couldn't imagine growing anything hardy enough to withstand the weather past mid-Oct. My only guess might be Rosemary, as it's a bush, but otherwise, I wouldn't know what would grow, without a greenhouse, at this time of year.
Any and all advice is much appreciated!
