You read that right--"Goodbye/Bon Voyage."
This coming week will contain a HUGE milestone for me--I'm leaving LA! Not only am I leaving Los Angeles (I know that's a big deal in and of itself) I'm leaving the COUNTRY! Unlike previous trips where I was gone for a number of weeks, the next time I return to Los Angeles I will be a *visiting EX-PATRIOT* of the United States of America! A long-time desire of mine has finally manifested into reality--I'm gonna be living in Europe!
In honor of that, I'll be playing TWO farewell gigs! The first will be at my residency for the last 7 years--Something Else! Monday June 25 @ The Brig (1515 Abbot Kinney Bl. Venice 90291 (310) 399-7537 thebrig.com ) One of my former partners, Chaka, has spoken to the owner so he and ToneArm will be taking the reins after my departure (SO GO SUPPORT THEM!!)
The 2nd gig will be Wednesday June 27 (the night before I take off) at my friends' Adam (Dj Adlove) & Scott's night @ The Hideout (112 W. Channel Road Santa Monica, CA 90402 (310) 429-1851 www.santamonicahideout.com/ ) There's actually room to dance, and I'm expecting some of you to test that theory... ;)
Both gigs are at bars, so it's strictly 21+ w/ID, 9pm-2am and no cover (so DRINK UP!!)
I know some of you won't be able to make either of these--I love you anyway. If you have a minute, send me a "message of love" (as the pretenders would say) and I'll carry it in my heart to my new home in Sitges, Catalunya, Spain. Btw, I'll be Dj'ing out there, so if you're gonna be in the Barcelona area hit a bruh up, k?

Fri, June 22, 2007 - 1:21 AMI think that Spain's "scene" will pleasantly surprise you. Last time I was there was 12 years ago, but even then the clubs were very active and the patrons friendly. From what I've heard it's still very active. I wish you a beautiful future there. -

Sat, June 23, 2007 - 4:14 PMi've been there several times, but i'm always open to pleasant surprises. i've had a pretty good experience--except for trying to find vinyl (more and more scarce every trip.) fortunately, i've acquired serato so "digital is good."

Make sure to hit Malaga. There's this fantastic shop called "Grass and Scratch," they've got some nice gear as well as great tracks, but you have to push the owner to get him to hand over the white labels :-)

the primary reason i'm moving is because of my gf who lives in sitges and is an avid triber--we were first introduced via tribe.

T-bird (sorry, it took me a while to realize who this is that is leaving us) you will be sorely missed by the US but I am glad to see that you'll still be reachable. You're a fine chap and I've greatly enjoyed meeting you here and there those few times. We wish you all the best. Travel safely and keep rockin' heads and hips globally. We know that you will.
