Hey all!
I joined this tribe because I love to support the underground arts!
But, unlike all of you, my underground scene is the EAST BAY PUNK SCENE!
Are any of you guys interested in PUNK, HARDCORE, METAL, THRASH, CRUST music?
You probably wouldn't believe it, but lots of underground punx are into a lot of hip-hop, DJ, rap type stuff... so I was just wondering if it works the other way around?
Have any of you been to a punk show?
Do you ever want to?
Do you hate punk?
Do you have any idea what punk actually sounds like?
What about the underground CIRCUS scene?
Did you even know there was an underground circus scene?
Would you ever want to come to an underground circus show?
What types of underground shows have you guys been to that is outside your "SCENE?"
Can you suggest a fun underground scene for others to check out?
... JUST TRYING TO GET A DISCUSSION GOING....

Re: Underground Punx...
Wed, March 5, 2008 - 10:53 AMThanks for chiming in, Vaudie. We've been a bit quiet lately. Personally, I used to go to a lot of underground East Coast hardcore shows when I lived out there (bands like Converge, Split Lip, Cable, Alert - not sure how many are still playing). It was all metal with a heavy groove element and it was some of the best times i ever had. On the East Coast, pits are a lot different and people actually slam danced still (as opposed to "moshing")...pickin' up change...windmills...all that junk.I really miss it at times. The energy and the crowd can be really uplifting (can be quite the opposite too depending on the area). Personally, I am now in an area where the music scene leaves a lot to be desired. The crowd is always lackluster at live music events and I've found much more enthusiasm and love int the underground dance music scene here. But even that scene has suffered greatly in the last few years.
Do I hate punk? Ya, I admit that I dislike a lot of punk, but I recently learned how not to hate any music and accept it for being what it is and for being someone's outlet.
Underground Circus is new to me, but it reminds me of my Burner friends so i think I've seen something like it. I like the sounds of this idea a lot.
The way I figure it, we're all underground all the time and we know that the underground is the only real creative influence on the mainstream. If you're willing to put it out to the group, no one should be bashing it or i'll have my way with them. Please feel free to post all that you want and invite your friends and locals and maybe we can pull our heads out of our dance music arses for ya. This community is open to all that have a feel for the underground scenes around the world. Underground yoga anyone? Lez doo eet!!! -
