Utah Belly Dancers is a tribe of belly dancers who love to belly dance. Dance is very powerful and empowering and sisterhood is the flame. Human beings have danced as long as we have been human: dance has perhaps been part of how we became human in the beginning, long before the patriarchial society which our world has become. We want to renew the world and believe we can do it through dance. We dream a re-newed balance for all of life after it and dance that dream into manifestation. We dance for the ancient future. We yearn for days that are safe for our children and grandbabies. We dance as a means of expression. We dance for ourselves and our friends and we dance in wild places for all of life. Here the stage is not the focus, but the prayer dance in the gloaming. Here, the focus is not the costume, but the intent behind the creation.
