I'm sorry, but could you enlighten me? I don't get what you want an opinion on.

On Gonda saying she's a 'brave huisvrouw' in daily life? (yes? and? Kudos to her for being a single mom but it's her business and not ours)
On someone 'speaking for the dutch bellydance community'? (which is rather rediculous if you ask me)
Or on whether or not the dutch bellydancing community disagrees with what she said? (again, her business, not ours)

also: I didn't see the little interview yet so thanks for posting that. I think it's really interesting to hear about people's inspiration and motivation. :-)

Well...I think it's great what Gonda is doing!
I think she is very good in combining ATS with the glaswalking thing and great in presenting what she does and showing to the Netherlands that there's more than Oriental bellydance (please don't get me wrong, I like Oriental)!

And btw did you already see 'our' Rachid?

        Go Holland!!!

It isn't so much about WHAT (which style) people do, but in what WAY (presentation) they are doing it.

Well I meant to ask an opinion on the kind of fusion. Most dancers don't like it when we're associated with strippers and some don't like it if we're associated with a glass walking thing.

it's honestly the first time ever that I heard dancers don't like to be associated with the glass walking thing. The stripper thing I do know (as I don't like to be associated with one either, the times I had to explain to people it's not 'erotic entertainment...) but the glass walking bit is inspired by (mostly) indian culture/fakirs. Things like that have been inspiring dancers around the world for as long as -I- can remember, so I don't see why that association would be a bad thing per se.

Personally I'm with Minka on this, I think it's great. :-)

And yes I've seen rachid! A bit of a a shame that the camerapeople didn't always know what to focus on so some closeups are timed a bit awkwardly, but other than that it was awesome :-D
