WASHINGTON - In the immediate aftermath of the 2001 anthrax attacks, White House officials repeatedly pressed FBI Director Robert Mueller to prove it was a second-wave assault by Al Qaeda, but investigators ruled that out, the Daily News has learned.

After the Oct. 5, 2001, death from anthrax exposure of Sun photo editor Robert Stevens, Mueller was "beaten up" during President Bush's morning intelligence briefings for not producing proof the killer spores were the handiwork of terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden, according to a former aide.

"They really wanted to blame somebody in the Middle East," the retired senior FBI official told The News.

On October 15, 2001, President Bush said, "There may be some possible link" to Bin Laden, adding, "I wouldn't put it past him." Vice President Cheney also said Bin Laden's henchmen were trained "how to deploy and use these kinds of substances, so you start to piece it all together."

But by then the FBI already knew anthrax spilling out of letters addressed to media outlets and to a U.S. senator was a military strain of the bioweapon. "Very quickly [Fort Detrick, Md., experts] told us this was not something some guy in a cave could come up with," the ex-FBI official said. "They couldn't go from box cutters one week to weapons-grade anthrax the next."

My demonstration of direct democracy: voting with my feet -

I will go to the German government on Canada day 2008 and ask for asylum.

My request is the result of my treatment by the members of our Parliament: MPs, the Speaker, the Prime Minister, the Governor General, and the Queen who were informed by registered mail that there is compelling evidence that the events of 9/11 did not occur as we have been led to believe by the administration of the US.

None of the Members of Parliament were interested in discussing the vast amount of credible government-level discussion that calls into question the official explanation of the events of that day. By intentionally ignoring such evidence, the Parliament of Canada is failing in its duty to the citizens of Canada to whom Parliament is subservient, according to our laws and constitution, and is in fact acting in collusion with the administration of the US. This collusion constitutes a transfer of sovereignty from Parliament—the most sovereign institution permitted by our constitution—to the administration of the US.

Parliament in support of the geopolitical interests of the US administration has directed the Canadian military to engage in lethal combat in Afghanistan, the pretext for the invasion being the US administration's story of the events of 9/11. However, no proof of the administration's claims has ever been presented to the United Nations. Evidence from credible sources of the unreliability of the claims made by the US administration is compelling. These claims, which are contrary to the version of events provided by the US administration, have never been investigated in the public arena.

There is a mountain of evidence that contradicts the "official story" of 9/11. The fact that not one of our elected members of parliament nor the RCMP or Crown Counsel wants to investigate the circumstances deaths of 24 Canadians speaks volumes about them and the true state of affairs in Canada.

Good on you Mr. Hawkins for attempting to do something to effect a 9/11 Investigation in Canada, however, I don't think leaving is the answer, and Germany nor any other European country for that matter would not be my first place to seek political asylum on these grounds. I think you would be more welcome and well received in Venezuela, as Chavez himself openly questions 9/11. Better still however, stay here and work with us!

Whether or not we (9/11 Truth Movement in Canada) get an Official 9/11 investigation or not, it is our duty to Be the Media and to inform and educate fellow citizens as best we can to the facts of 9/11 that we have uncovered, if only to help ensure that they are not fooled by the next "False Flag Operation" that is surely already being planned and will inevitably be carried out.

An investigation is already happening in the minds of the people who, based upon my own 9/11 Truth street actions, no longer trust nor believe the MSM and their government representatives. This is also born out statistically as their newspaper subscriptions and TV ratings for news programs are in steady decline.

Have some faith in your fellow citizens and stand with us to combat the lies and propaganda. Stand on guard for Canada!

How Terrorist Groups End, Lessons for Countering al Qa'ida -

All terrorist groups eventually end. But how do they end? The evidence since 1968 indicates that most groups have ended because (1) they joined the political process (43 percent) or (2) local police and intelligence agencies arrested or killed key members (40 percent).

Military force has rarely been the primary reason for the end of terrorist groups, and few groups within this time frame have achieved victory.

This has significant implications for dealing with al Qa'ida and suggests fundamentally rethinking post-9/11 U.S. counterterrorism strategy: Policymakers need to understand where to prioritize their efforts with limited resources and attention. The authors report that religious terrorist groups take longer to eliminate than other groups and rarely achieve their objectives. The largest groups achieve their goals more often and last longer than the smallest ones do. Finally, groups from upper-income countries are more likely to be left-wing or nationalist and less likely to have religion as their motivation. The authors conclude that policing and intelligence, rather than military force, should form the backbone of U.S. efforts against al Qa'ida. And U.S. policymakers should end the use of the phrase ?war on terrorism? since there is no battlefield solution to defeating al Qa'ida. Source

Comment:

Good article and good points GW, but Rand Corp fails to take into account the fact that many "terrorist groups" are run (trained and / or funded by intelligence agencies) and aid governments (or the elites that control governments) to push through their own agenda by creating terror through fake enemies, or to ensure that police and military funding remains high and consistent (just as private fire brigades in the old days used to set fires to justify themselves, and just as the mob sets up protection rackets, extorting money from small businesses in exchange for "security"). It is the oldest trick in the book.

The RAND Corp (a think tank) of course is a front for the Military Industrial Complex. Their solution "policing and intelligence, rather than military force, should form the backbone of U.S. efforts against al Qa'ida" would mean a larger, more powerful police state with even more citizen surveillance and monitoring and the violation or abolition of constitutionally guaranteed rights and freedoms. The risk to citizens of being killed or harmed by "real" terrorists is so low it is pathetic to even consider it, visa vis the risk of drowning in your own pool or the at the lake, being hurt or killed in a car accident, a house fire, or even going to the doctor for that matter (which ranks at or near the top statistically). Thus, a War on Medicine or War on Big Pharma would be far more warranted and justifiable.

The Canadian government's "Canada First Defence Strategy" (CFDS) is written from the purely capitalistic, profit-making viewpoint while paying lip service to other concerns and interests, such as Indigenous people and the environment. Canadians do not support this war making strategy!

Canada’s war strategists intend to spend $490 billion over the next 20 years.

"... the Government has committed through Budget 2008 to raise the annual INCREASE in defence [warmaking] funding to 2 percent from the current 1.5 percent starting in fiscal year 2011–12... These increases will expand National Defence’s [War Department] annual budget from approximately $18 billion in 2008-09, to over $30 billion in 2027–28."

The 22-page pdf file posted online on June 19 includes color photos of Generalissimo Stephen "Doughboy" Harper and Commandant Peter "PeaBrain" MacKay. US military procurement web sites like DefenseIndustryDaily publish articles on the new Canadian military strategy. DID expresses skepticism about the stability of Canada's government and its ability to follow through with this plan.

The "Strategy" is an outline for an aggressive and profit-making military buildup!! What megalomaniac plans do these warmongers have in mind??

In "A Message from the Prime Minister", "the Doughboy" gets to the point: "Supported by predictable, long-term funding... we are providing Canadian industry the opportunity to..." make piles of money.

Just what does he mean by "predictable, long-term funding"??? Does he anticipate being in power indefinitely or does he know something we don't know. According to “Generalissimo Stevie” on tv recently, he speaks for ALL Canadians. Why are Canadians who oppose war seemingly silent?

In "A Message from the Minister of National Defence", "Peabrain" Pete lists the 3 roles, oft repeated, "... at home... in the defence of North America, and to project leadership abroad ... overseas". That mouthful translates as "attack anyone anywhere if they stand in the way of our greed and ambition."

In the Executive Summary, "...the Strategy identifies ... where investments are most needed... The Canada First Defence Strategy provides the planning certainty required to allow the Government to continue rebuilding the Canadian Forces ...and presents unprecedented opportunities for Canadian industry in its reach for global excellence."
Clearly, they are trying to impress their foreign investors and the subsidized corporations who will build all this warstuff instead of housing, hospitals, safe bridges and roads.

$490 BILLION FROM WHERE!!!!????

Where will they get all this money? Working taxpayers already contribute 10% of their income tax to the military. Your compulsory CPP (Canada Pension Plan) deductions are also invested in the military industry through the Carlyle Group as are many pension funds such as the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’. You have no say in this matter other than to refuse to work. Your retirement pension may be blood money pure and simple.

The document which itself probably cost a pretty penny to produce, continues: "In addition to the acquisition of four C-17 Globemaster strategic lift aircraft already in service [flying in and out at Trenton], the Government is procuring 17 new C-130J Hercules tactical lift aircraft and has announced plans to acquire 16 CH-47F Chinook helicopters, three replenishment ships, 2,300 trucks, up to 100 Leopard 2 tanks and 6–8 Arctic/offshore patrol ships."

The Gov plan to "Increase the number of military personnel to 70,000 Regular Forces and 30,000 Reserve Forces". They are targeting Native youth, especially in the North. The military want to exploit the Indigenous knowledge of the land and destroy Indigenous sovereignty at the same time. Programs like Bold Eagle lure young Native people into thinking the army is a fun place to be and will make you feel like you belong and have power.

The warmongers are very concerned about their ability to control and defend Canada’s sovereignty in the Arctic "as activity in northern lands and waters accelerates". The corporation of Canada no more owns the Arctic than any other part of Turtle Island.

"In Canada’s Arctic region, changing weather patterns [probably deliberately caused by HAARP] are altering the environment, making it more accessible to sea traffic and economic activity. Retreating ice cover has opened the way for increased shipping, tourism and resource exploration, and new transportation routes are being considered, including through the Northwest Passage. While this promises substantial economic benefits for Canada, it has also brought new challenges from other shores. These changes in the Arctic could also spark an increase in illegal activity, with important implications for Canadian sovereignty and security and a potential requirement for additional military support."

They don't appear the least bit concerned about climate change. They sound eager and confident that they anticipate the weather going their way, as if it were part of the strategy too. They aren't too worried about the extinction of the polar bears either.

They claim that the "military helped out in natural disasters ...including floods in Manitoba and Quebec, the ice storm in Eastern Canada, and forest fires in British Columbia." We were in eastern Ontario during the ice storm and will never forget the yellow water the military reserves tried to give to us when they were hanging around the “ag hall”.

They spell out some of their "challenges to domestic security... possible terrorist attacks, human and drug trafficking, foreign encroachments on Canada’s natural resources, and potential outbreaks of infectious disease."

This is some extreme delusional paranoia. What terrorist attacks and what human trafficking do they mean? The colonialists are the foreigners encroaching on natural resources. They are the ones making deadly diseases in labs like the one in Winnipeg, with the hopes of killing off a lot of people.

The military have already made plans to be at the 2010 Olympics which Indigenous are already working hard to stop. The G8 summit will also take place in Canada in 2010 with full military protection at taxpayers expense.

"Canada Command" was set up in 2006 to deal with natural disasters and "terrorist attacks". What an interesting combination, sometimes it might be hard to tell the difference. That's why they need lots of surveillance equipment so they can tell the difference even if we cannot.

As the lines become more and more blurred as to their role, "The Forces must also be available to assist other government departments in addressing such security concerns as over-fishing, organized crime, drug- and people-smuggling and environmental degradation." This gives them uncontrolled access to every situation on land, sea and in the air.

The military is the absolute worst for "environmental degradation". Just recently in the USA, Canada's mentor and role model, the Pentagon ignored the ruling of the DEA on cleaning up their mess all over the USA. The long term environmental damage caused by military bases and their activities is shocking. Some of the airforce bases are the worst. Why is this? Canada's largest airforce base is at Trenton near Tyendinaga where they intend to expand and may even put a NATO FOB.

Canada's role in the "defence of North America" is about having credibility with the Pentagon and being able to work UNDER them. They must "conduct daily continental operations (including through NORAD); Carry out bilateral training and exercises with the United States; Respond to crises; and Remain interoperable with the US military". Many of their joint training exercises take place at Fort Drum Military Reservation near Watertown, New York.

Canada and the US have had intimate military relations since 1958 when they formed NORAD which now has expanded roles. They also work together on domestic jobs via Canada Command and the US Northern Command. To maintain what they call "interoperability", their equipment and doctrine must be compatible. To have a compatible doctrine, Canadian soldiers must be prepared to do everything the American soldiers do such as running over civilians in Afghanistan. Clearly Canaduh needs more muscle if it wants to be an "international leader on the world stage".

The warmongers suggest that in addition to continuing their involvement in NATO aggressions, they will also go to war alongside "like minded" allies with or without UN approval as occurred when the US went to war on Iraq.

These warmakers are very concerned about the world stage and their part on it. See how they flex their muscles in Afghanistan, pretending to help the women and children. The compliant media tell us that Canadian soldiers are building schools and hospitals there when, in fact, they are guarding the hundreds of mining developments taking place, such as the Aynak copper mine just a few kilometres from Kabul. This rich mine site was auctioned, in late 2007, to the Chinese metallurgical corporation MCC for a price of more than 3 billion American dollars. All the big mining companies are in there scrambling for a piece of the action.

Surveys indicate there are massive deposits of almost every kind of mineral wealth in Afghanistan, such as gold, iron, uranium, and copper, as well as hydrocarbons, especially coal. Afghanistan is also one of the few locations on Earth where the rare element, tantalum is found. Similarly, Kanehsatake has a huge deposit of niobium, often found with tantalum.

Presumably, the loot plundered from the Earth, here or in Afghanistan will help with their "increased, predictable long-term funding..."

They intend to keep control of the government purse strings to develop a plan much of which is unimaginable to most people. What "full range of challenges" do they mean, does it include the possible Indigenous and grassroots resistance to their insane strategy???

The military planners describe the world as volatile and unpredictable. They make it that way when they go around the world killing people everywhere. They use terms like "failed and failing states, civil wars and global terrorism", phantoms they created. They must be talking about themselves when they say, "nuclear-capable adversarial states headed by unpredictable regimes are particularly worrisome".

They have to refer to "the pernicious influence of Islamist militants in key regions" to have a scapegoat for their military buildup and to please the Israelis who want to go at Iran.

HOW THE $490 BILLION GETS SPENT

Over half, or $250B will go to personnel. With layoffs in factories every week in Ontario, there will be plenty of unemployed lining up for careers in the military. Highly skilled individuals are needed as medical and maintenance technicians, SRI (Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Intelligence)specialists and "special operations" types.

The increased number of personnel will be available for future international operations and the 2010 Olympics which they have mentioned 3 times now.

Equipment purchases will cover 12% or $60B for big toys like the Globemaster and Hercules transport aircraft, 65 new Fighter planes, chinook helicopters, search & rescue planes, UAV's,(unmanned aerial vehicles or drones) ships and trucks, plenty of trucks. And of course, weapons and bombs and communications equipment. They want lots more radar and satellites for the Arctic.

$40B will be spent on "infrastructure" which includes housing for the soldiers and $140B for "readiness" which includes training. How many spare parts do you need to stockpile? How many extra socks and batteries does each guy need? How often do you need to go through the drill? $140 billion worth, they figure for 20 years. That's $7billion per year!

They let us know this phenomenal total of $490billion does NOT include any costs for a new major war. For example, if the US and Israel go at Iran or if the US goes at Russia, and Canada follows, then Canada will introduce NEW spending for that.

They hasten to add that there will be "jobs for tens of thousands of Canadians who work in defence industries and communities with military base". They also emphasize research and development to build up the military industry for the long haul. It's about perpetual war.

"National Defence is the single largest property holder in the federal government, owning approximately 21,000 buildings (many are over 50years old and crumbling), 13,500 works (including 5,500 kilometres of roads, jetties, training areas, etc.) and 800 parcels of land covering 2.25 million hectares", all Indigenous territory. They plan to replace 25 percent of existing infrastructure over 10 years and 50 percent over the next 20 years.

The war planners are developing a "Strategic Investment Plan" to coordinate all this spending. The first version of the Plan will go to the Treasury Board Secretariat in November 2008 as part of a pilot project associated with that agency’s new Policy on Investment Planning.

The Gov has another plan, "'Advantage Canada', the Government’s strategic plan for boosting the economic prosperity, global competitiveness and quality of life of Canadians". This is their sinister plan to establish an elite military society based in the northern part of Turtle Island. All the big smilitary industry corporations like Thales, Boeing, Northrop Grumman and GM are already lining up with hat in hand at DRDC (Defence Research and Development Canada) for the big research and development cheques so they can spruce up their image of "global excellence" and make even more money. Other countries like Brazil, India and China are making much bigger investments in their military and will need to buy stuff, lots of stuff from military producers like Canada. Perpetual war means a lot of money for the military industry.

The Canadian war makers map out how they will court corporate giants and bring them into the War Department where they can help plan everything. They will change laws to allow them even more tax breaks and corporate welfare. Guys like “Cousin” John Manley will be right in there, filling their pockets. And last but not least, universities can grab funding too if they want to work on military projects.

They conclude by telling us this spending is open to review and regular increases as they see fit.

The only thing I would have add is that this increase in militarism and military spending is directly predicated upon the BIG LIE of 9/11, which was (as they always are) a "False Flag" event to create war, and to which Canada has become a willing participant without any independent investigation of the events, despite the fact that 24 Canadians dies that day and over 85 Canadians have now been killed in Afghanistan. It is high time to investigate it. The trail of evidence leads not to a cave in Afghanistan, but rather, to the Pentagon, the Whitehouse and the neon lit office towers and board rooms of Wall Street.

Just when you thought you’ve heard it all...

A senior government official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expressed great interest in a so-called safety bracelet that would serve as a stun device, similar to that of a police Taser®. According to this promotional video found at the Lamperd Less Lethal, Inc. website, the bracelet would be worn by all airline passengers (video also shown below).

This bracelet would:

• Take the place of an airline boarding pass

• Contain personal information about the traveler

• Be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage

• Shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes

The Electronic ID Bracelet, as it’s referred to, would be worn by every traveler “until they disembark the flight at their destination.” Yes, you read that correctly. Every airline passenger would be tracked by a government-funded GPS, containing personal, private and confidential information, and would shock the customer worse than an electronic dog collar if the passenger got out of line.

Clearly the Electronic ID Bracelet is a euphemism for the EMD Safety Bracelet, or at least it has a nefarious hidden ability (thus the term ID Bracelet is ambiguous at best). EMD stands for Electro-Musclar Disruption. Again, according to the promotional video, the bracelet can completely immobilize the wearer for several minutes.

So is the government really that interested in this bracelet?

Apparently so.

According to this letter from DHS official, Paul S. Ruwaldt of the Science and Technology Directorate, office of Research and Development, which was written to the inventor whom he had previously met with, Ruwaldt wrote, “To make it clear, we [the federal government] are interested in . . . the immobilizing security bracelet, and look forward to receiving a written proposal.”

The letterhead, in case you were wondering, is from a U.S. Department of Homeland Security office at the William J. Hughes Technical Center at the Atlantic City International Airport, or the Federal Aviation Administration headquarters.

In another part of the letter, Mr. Ruwaldt confirmed, “In addition, it is conceivable to envision a use to improve air security, on passenger planes.”

Would every paying airline passenger flying on a commercial airplane be mandated to wear one of these devices? I cringe at the thought. Not only could it be used as a physical restraining device, but also as a method of interrogation, according to the same aforementioned letter from Mr. Ruwaldt.

Would you let them put one of those on your wrist? Would you allow the airline employees, which would be mandated by the government, to place such a bracelet on any member of your family?

Why are tax dollars being spent on something like this?

Is this a police state or is this America?

Passengers virtually stripped naked by 3-D airport scanner

The airport in Kelowna, B.C., will be the first in Canada to test a new type of passenger scanner that creates a three-dimensional image of people's bodies.

The new body imager unveiled on Thursday uses high frequency electromagnetic waves known as millimetre waves to create a detailed 3-D image of what a person looks like underneath their clothes.

The security guard operating the machine only sees a simplified image on a computer screen that indicates where ceramic weapons and plastic explosives or other suspicious items might be concealed.

But in a separate, private room, another officer sees the full detailed black and white image of the person's body.

To be scanned, a passenger simply steps inside a glass pod the size of a large phone booth and puts up his arms above his head.

"The paddles rotate around the body. The radio frequency penetrates the clothing … bounces off the skin and gives … a 3-D holographic image of the body," said Ian McNaugton, the National Sales Manager for L3 Communications, which makes the machines.

If any suspicious items are identified, the passenger is then checked with a conventional security pat down, McNaughton said.

Ron McAdam, who manages technology and testing for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, spent months working with Canada's privacy commissioner to make sure the scanner complies with privacy rules.

"The images themselves are not saved.... They are deleted immediately once the passenger is cleared," said McAdam, who added that the security guard who sees the detailed image never sees the actual passenger.

In addition, passengers don't have to use the machine, McAdam said. If they have concerns, they can use regular screening lines instead.

Body image concerns some

Outside the airport, passengers gave the machine mixed reviews. Hugo Tinno said he would not volunteer. "I think it shows a little bit too much."

But Deena Kamozi, who had just dropped off her 14-year-old son, said anything that makes flying safer is a good thing.

"I'm not a big fan of flying anyway, so the safer I feel, the better," she said.

Kamozi said she had no privacy concerns about the body image.

"Not if it's going to protect my family on the plane."

The trial of the $200,000 machine will last until January, after which Transport Canada will decide whether to use the scanner at other Canadian airports.

The low-level radio frequency is safer than a cellphone, which use radio frequencies a thousand times stronger, according to McNaugton.

Other airports around the world, including in Los Angeles, New York City, Moscow and Osaka, are already using the millimetre wave technology, but the machine being testing at Kelowna International is the first in the world to combine the body imaging with a metal detector, McNaugton said.

He's being described as a patriot who served his country with pride. The family of Cpl. Brendan Downey has released a statement after the death of the Saskatchewan-based soldier overseas.

It was news he greeted with great joy, according to his family. Cpl. Downey and his wife Vanessa, also in the forces, were expecting their second child. Downey won't see his unborn child, or his two year old son Adam grow up. He was found dead early Friday in his quarters at a desert base that provides support to the Afghan mission.

Downey was born in Montreal, his parents and siblings are in Toronto; but his home base was the military police unit at the Dundurn detachment south of Saskatoon.

In the statement, Downey's family says he joined the forces in response to the September 11th attacks.

The death has been ruled non-combat related, as investigators try to find out just what happened.

I salute Downey for his patriotism, willingness to defend Canada and for wanting to do the right thing. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends, and ask that our government do the right thing and bring our troops home until they have thoroughly and publicly examined ALL of the facts about 9/11. We owe this to our troops, to those 24 Canadians who died that day, and the other 3000 victims, including the 9/11 rescuers who continue to die to this day). We ALL deserve the facts and the truth about the September 11th events. Who could have anything against that? Except perhaps those who have something to hide or to gain from an unending war on terror.

I hope, that other Canadian soldiers will take the time and personal responsibility to do their own research on 9/11 and the documented history of 'False Flag Operations'. This is how virtually ALL wars are started.

Silence is not patriotism and unquestioning support for war and trust in government decisions are a recipe for fascism and tyranny - something that previous generations of valiant Canadian soldiers gave their lives for. Lest we forget!

It is our duty as citizens to protect our country, our democracy, freedoms and way of life as much (if not more) as anyone who puts on a military uniform. If we are unwilling to do more than wave flags on Canada Day, watch hockey, sing our national anthem, and go along to get along, then we will get what we deserve, as history shows.

Support our troops! Demand a new, fair and impartial 9/11 investigation and bring our fine, patriotic men and women home until we have ALL of the facts.

Thank you Cpl. Downey for your service and sense of duty to your country. May you rest in peace.

62 per cent more Afghan civilians killed in fighting, says UN official

KABUL, Afghanistan - The number of civilians killed in fighting between insurgents and security forces in Afghanistan has soared by nearly two-thirds in the first half of this year, to almost 700 people, a senior UN official said.

The figures are a grim reminder of how the nearly seven-year war has failed to stabilize the country and suggest ordinary civilians are bearing a heavy toll, particularly from stepped-up militant attacks.

John Holmes, the world body's humanitarian affairs chief, said the insecurity is making it increasingly difficult to deliver emergency aid to Afghans hit by the global food crisis.

"The humanitarian situation is clearly affected and made worse by the ongoing conflict in different parts of the country," Holmes said Sunday in Kabul during a visit.

"Most of those casualties are caused by the insurgents, who seem to have no regard for civilian life but there are also still significant numbers caused by the international military forces," he said.

Holmes said UN figures show 698 civilians have died as a result of the fighting in the first half of this year. That compares with 430 in the first six months of 2007, a rise of 62 per cent.

Anti-government militants caused 422 of the recorded civilian casualties - 60 per cent - while government or foreign troops killed 255 people, according to the UN numbers. The cause of 21 other deaths was unclear.

Holmes said the proportion of civilian casualties caused by security forces had dropped from nearly one-half last year.

"It is clear that the international military forces are making every effort to minimize civilian casualties and recognize the damage this does and want to deal with that," he said.

"Nevertheless these problems are still there and we need to deal with them and make sure that the safety of civilians comes first and international humanitarian law is respected by everybody."

NATO's reaction to the UN figures was cool.

"The UN Human Rights rapporteur made an accusation (in May) that we had killed 200 and I said then that those numbers were far, far higher than we would recognize and that is still the case," said Mark Laity, a spokesman for the alliance in Kabul.

He provided no alternative figures.

Afghan leaders including President Hamid Karzai have accused NATO and the U.S.-led coalition of recklessly endangering civilians by using excessive force, including airstrikes, in residential areas.

Foreign commanders insist they take all reasonable precautions to avoid killing innocents and say militants routinely fire on them from houses and flee into villages.

Afghan governor says civilians killed in U.S. raid

KABUL (Reuters) - U.S.-led coalition troops, backed by air strikes, killed 28 Taliban insurgents in southwestern Afghanistan, but six to eight civilians were also killed in the operation, the provincial governor said on Monday.

Sunday's raid was aimed at a Taliban meeting in the Khash Rud district of Nimroz province on Sunday, provincial governor Ghulam Dastagir Azad told reporters.

"The operation was carried out on the basis of a tip-off. Twenty-eight Taliban and between six to eight civilians were killed in it," he said, without giving further details.

The U.S. military confirmed the mission, but said nothing of civilian casualties. It said the operation was aimed at disrupting militant activities in Nimroz.

The issue of civilians killed by foreign troops is a sensitive one in Afghanistan as it further undermines public support for the presence of around 71,000 international troops in the country.

In the first six months of this year, 698 civilians were killed, 255 of them by Afghan government and foreign forces. In the same period last year, a total of 430 civilians were killed, the United Nations said.

In the latest operation, U.S.-led coalition forces identified numerous militants armed with AK-47s, rocket-propelled grenades and hand grenades, the U.S. military said in a statement.

"Multiple militant groups engaged the force in a compound and in nearby areas. Coalition forces then killed them using small-arms fire. Two additional groups of armed militants maneuvered against the force and were killed by air strikes," it said.

A Taliban spokesman said no member of the group was killed and the casualties were civilians participating in a party.

Also in Nimroz, 15 Taliban insurgents were killed in a joint Afghan and U.S.-led forces operation after a group of insurgents attacked an Afghan police post in the Dasht-e Bakwa on Sunday, the Afghan Interior Ministry said.

Elsewhere, two Afghan soldiers were killed and three more were wounded when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the eastern province of Paktia on Sunday, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement issued on Monday.

Afghanistan has faced an upsurge of violence since 2006 and some Western politicians have warned it may slide back into anarchy.

According to Afghan and U.N. officials more than 13,000 people have been killed since 2006 when the Taliban regrouped to overthrow the Afghan government and drive out foreign troops.

Therefore, this will be a special day of action for Fraser Valley 9/11 Truth as we share what we know about 9/11 with our fellow citizens on the streets of Maple Ridge during the official Canada Day celebrations, and we need as many people out as possible to participate in this act of love for our country, fellow citizens and the world at large.

If you can't get out here, please get out in your own cities, towns and neighbourhoods for 9/11 Truth and Justice, and to put an end to the illegal wars that are based upon lies.

If you have never taken action before and not normally inclined to do so, please make this the one day that you do something. Put a sign in your window, on the lawn or in your car, make a banner and hang it at an overpass, print and copy some flyers, burn some DVDs and hand them out, but PLEASE do something to help inform Canadians and to save Canada.

It is up to each of us to expose the 9/11 fraud and to say to the world that "we do not and will not support the global war of terror and the killing being done in our name without a new, fair and impartial investigation of all the facts!"

The clip, which was originally intended to feature in Loose Change Final Cut but had to be withdrawn according to Jennings' wishes after he had received threats, has now been made public in anticipation of a BBC documentary about Building 7 which is expected to skew Jennings' account in an attempt to reinforce the official story.

In reality, what Jennings witnessed completely contradicts the official story of what happened to Building 7.

Japanese Lawmaker Yukihisa Fujita takes 9/11 doubts global

20/06/08 "Japan Times" -- -- In a September 2003 article for The Guardian newspaper, Michael Meacher, who served as Tony Blair's environment minister from May 1997 to June 2003, shocked the establishment by calling the global war on terrorism "bogus." Even more controversially, he implied that the U.S. government either allowed 9/11 to happen, or played some role in the destruction wrought that day. Besides Meacher, few politicians have publicly questioned America's official 9/11 narrative — until Diet member Yukihisa Fujita.

In January 2008 Fujita, a member of the Democratic Party of Japan, asked the Japanese Parliament and Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda to explain gaping holes in the official 9/11 story that various groups — including those who call themselves the "911 Truth Movement" — claim to have exposed.

Fujita, along with a growing number of individuals — including European and American politicians — are leading a charge to conduct a thorough, independent investigation of what happened on Sept. 11, 2001.

"Three or four years ago I saw some Internet videos like 'Loose Change' and '911 In Plane Site' and I began to ask questions," Fujita said in an interview, "but I still couldn't believe this was done by anyone but al-Qaida.

"Last year I watched more videos and read books written by professor David Ray Griffin (a professor emeritus of philosophy of religion and theology at Claremont Graduate University who wrote the most famous Truth Movement book, 'The New Pearl Harbor') about things such as the collapse of World Trade Center No. 7. This building, which was never hit by an airplane, collapsed straight down. Between the videos showing the way it fell, and the numerous reports of explosions, many are convinced that this building was demolished."

Fujita's presentation to the Diet and Fukuda focused a great deal on yet another aspect of 9/11 that now quite a few around the world find extremely suspicious: the Pentagon crash.

"I don't think (a) 767 could have hit the Pentagon," Fujita reckons. "There is no evidence of the plane itself. Almost nothing identifiable was left on the lawn or inside. The official story says the entire plane disintegrated, but the jet engines in particular were very strong (two 6-ton titanium steel turbine engines). And the damage to the building is much smaller than the size of the supposed airplane. The official claims just don't fit the facts."

While some label that claim "wacky" and label critics of the official 9/11 story "conspiracy theorists," Fujita has impressive company. For one, former Maj. Gen. Albert Stubblebine, who was commanding general of U.S. Army Intelligence and Security until 1984, is quoted on the "Patriots Question 911" Web site as saying, "I look at the hole in the Pentagon and I look at the size of an airplane that was supposed to have hit the Pentagon. And I said, 'The plane does not fit in that hole.'

"So what did hit the Pentagon? What hit it? Where is it? What's going on?"

Fujita urges the Bush administration to put the issue to rest simply by showing videos that show the plane that hit the Pentagon. Instead, only a few grainy images have been released to the public. More disconcertingly, many videos taken by surrounding businesses were confiscated by the FBI immediately after the Pentagon explosion.

The Pennsylvania crash, like the Pentagon explosion, also yielded virtually no recognizable plane parts at the crash site. Rather, small pieces of debris were found up to 10 km away. The official story — that the plane "vaporized" when it hit the ground — is inconsistent with the evidence left by every other plane crash in the history of aviation.

Plane crashes always yield plane fragments, Fujita explained, which can be identified by the plane's serial number, but that's not the case for the four planes which crashed on 9/11. Strangely, the U.S. government managed to produce passports and DNA samples of individuals killed, but no identifiable plane parts. In an online article entitled "Physics 911," 34-year U.S. Air Force veteran Col. George Nelson notes, "It seems . . . that all potential evidence was deliberately kept hidden from public view."

Fujita has largely relied on the voluminous amount of video and written material published in books and on the Internet, including the "Patriots Question 911" site, on which hundreds of allegations are leveled against the official story by senior officials from the military, intelligence services, law enforcement, and government, as well as pilots, engineers, architects, firefighters and others.

While not many other Japanese have taken an interest in this story, a few notable individuals besides Fujita have disputed the U.S. government's version, including Akira Dojimaru, a Japanese writer living in Spain. In his book, written in Japanese, "The Anatomy of the WTC Collapses: Flaws in the U.S. Government's Account," he uses photos, drawings and blueprints of the WTC buildings to back up his claim that buildings one and two could not have fallen in the manner they fell due to the plane crashes and subsequent fires. "And even if it was conceivable that they could fall due to the damage that day," Dojimaru wrote in an e-mail, "they never would have collapsed horizontally, and would have scattered steel beams and smashed concrete much farther than 100 meters."

For Fujita, it was Dojimaru's meticulous research, combined with the aforementioned Web sites, that convinced him the official story was nothing more than a house of cards.

One book that Fujita found unconvincing was the "9/11 Commission Report."

"The head of the 9/11 Commission is close with (U.S. Secretary of State) Condoleezza Rice and (Vice President Dick) Cheney. One commission member (Sen. Max Cleland) resigned, saying the White House did not disclose enough information."

On Democracy Now's radio show in March 2004, Cleland even went as far as to say, "This White House wants to cover it (the facts of 9/11) up."

More recently, a New York Times article in January quoted Thomas Kean, the chairman of the 9/11 Commission, as saying that "the CIA destroyed videotaped interrogations of Qaeda operatives," and concluded that that "obstructed our investigation."

Following the lead of Fujita, Karen Johnson, a conservative Republican senator from Arizona, has publicly voiced her doubts about 9/11 before the U.S. Senate. Inspired by Blair Gadsby — who on May 27 started a hunger strike to bring attention to the 911 Truth Movement — Johnson, like Fujita, is encouraging politicians to conduct a thorough, independent investigation.

Fujita, who worked for more than 20 years for the international conflict resolution NGO group MRA and the Japanese Association for Aid and Relief (AAR), has become something of a global cause celebre since his extraordinary questioning at the Diet. In February 2008, he participated in a conference at the European Parliament led by EMP Guilietto Chiesa calling for an independent commission of inquiry into 9/11. While in Europe, he met with NGOs from 11 European countries to discuss 9/11.

One month later Fujita spoke at the "Truth Now" conference in Sydney, Australia. One focus of these meetings was the Italian documentary "ZERO," whose release will mark the first time the 9/11 movement's message has moved from the "cyberworld" to public venues. Fujita has also spoken about his 9/11 doubts on two U.S. radio shows, one hosted by Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, and another by Alex Jones of infowars.com.

He is also making ripples in Japan. Fujita was featured in a March 2 article by well-known critic Takao Iwami on "How to deal with doubts about 9/11" in the Sunday Mainichi weekly. He was also featured in a March 26 Spa! magazine piece headlined, "European conference discusses 9/11 doubts."

However, not everyone is enthralled with Fujita's bold line of questioning.

"One person showed strong anger towards me," Fujita noted, "and another (Japanese person) threatened my life. A few others advised me to be extremely careful."

Still, Fujita says, the vast majority — around 95 percent — have been positive.

"One man said, 'You're a true samurai.' Another man came all the way from Okayama in western Japan to thank me personally. And among other Parliament members, I received only words of encouragement and support."

While in Europe, Fujita met British former MP Meacher, who dared to question the official story when it was still considered gospel. Time, the Iraq war and well-sourced online videos are emboldening many people, including politicians, to step out of the cyberworld and voice their doubts in newspapers, magazines, theaters, and — most importantly — government chambers.

"Now Blair is gone, and Bush will soon be gone," Meacher told Fujita. "Our time is coming."

Donald Rumsfeld on 9/11: An enemy within, By Matthew Everett

What was Rumsfeld doing on 9/11? He deserted his post. He disappeared. The country was under attack. Where was the guy who controls America’s defense? Out of touch! --A senior White House official

On September 11, 2001, the United States suffered its worst attack since Pearl Harbor. Yet, as evidence shows, the country was in many ways undefended for the entire duration of the assault. The Air Force was nowhere to be seen until it was too late. [1] The commander in chief of the armed forces, President George W. Bush, continued with a pre-planned photo op at a school in Florida, only leaving the place at 9:35, just before the time the Pentagon was struck. [2] The acting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Richard Myers was on Capitol Hill. Despite seeing the television reports of the World Trade Center after it was first hit, he continued with a scheduled meeting there, and supposedly was not notified when the second plane hit at 9:03. He therefore did not head back to the Pentagon until around the time it too was hit, and only joined the critical air threat conference call shortly before 10 a.m. By that time, the attacks were nearly over. [3]

Furthermore, new evidence shows that for the critical two hours in which the attacks occurred, the country was effectively without a secretary of defense. An analysis of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s actions on 9/11 reveals several occasions when he was alerted to the attacks that were taking place. Each time, if he were not already doing so, he should have leapt into action and assumed his responsibilities in coordinating a crisis response, and helping to protect the people of America. Yet, instead, his responses were consistent: He did nothing.

Donald Rumsfeld on 9/11

Donald Rumsfeld started the morning of 9/11 with an 8 o’clock breakfast meeting with several members of Congress, held in his private dining room at the Pentagon, to discuss the subject of missile defense. During this meeting, according to his own recollection, Rumsfeld warned that “sometime in the next two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve months there would be an event that would occur in the world that would be sufficiently shocking that it would remind people again how important it is to have a strong healthy defense department that contributes to -- that underpins peace and stability in our world.” He was subsequently informed of the first attack in New York promptly after it happened. He says: “[S]omeone walked in and handed [me] a note that said that a plane had just hit the World Trade Center.” [4]

Larry Di Rita, a special assistant to Rumsfeld, had sent this note. Although initial news reports had been unclear, with some of them suggesting the WTC might have been hit by just a small plane, according to Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Torie Clarke: “Even in the accidental crash scenario, the military might be involved in some way. Rumsfeld needed to know.” Yet after receiving Di Rita’s note, rather than initiating or joining any emergency response process, Rumsfeld continued as if this were just an ordinary day. As he later recounted: “[W]e adjourned the meeting, and I went in to get my CIA briefing.” [5]

Inside her office in the Pentagon, Torie Clarke saw the second plane hitting the World Trade Center live on television. It was now obvious that the U.S. was under attack. As she later described: “[I]mmediately, the crisis management process started up.” Along with Larry Di Rita, she headed to Rumsfeld’s office. When they arrived there, Di Rita told the defense secretary: “Sir, I think your entire schedule is going to be different today.” By this time, the Pentagon’s Executive Support Center (ESC) was going into operation. Located down the hallway from Rumsfeld’s office, the ESC comprises several conference rooms that are secure against electronic eavesdropping. It is, according to Clarke, “the place where the building’s top leadership goes to coordinate military operations during national emergencies.” One would therefore have expected Rumsfeld to have gone straight there, or to the National Military Command Center (NMCC), located next door to it. Yet, as before, he continued as if this were an ordinary day. He told Clarke and Di Rita to go to the ESC and wait for him. “In the meantime, he would get his daily intelligence briefing, which was already scheduled for nine thirty.” Rumsfeld “wanted to make a few phone calls,” so he “stayed in his office.” [6]

What Donald Rumsfeld did in the next half-hour is unclear. Even in his prepared testimony to the 9/11 Commission, he said nothing about his actions during this crucial period leading up to the attack on the Pentagon. [7] But important new details of his response to the Pentagon strike itself have been revealed in the account of Aubrey Davis, an officer with the Pentagon police, who was assigned to be Rumsfeld’s personal bodyguard the morning of 9/11. This account appears in Andrew Cockburn’s recent biography, Rumsfeld: His Rise, Fall, and Catastrophic Legacy.

From watching televised reports of events in New York, Davis had concluded that America was under attack and the Pentagon could be a target. Of his own initiative, he’d made his way to move the secretary of defense to a better-protected location. Just after 9:37 a.m., while Rumsfeld was in his office with his CIA briefer, Davis was standing outside his door. Then, he says, he heard “an incredibly loud ‘boom,’” as the Pentagon was struck.

Cockburn describes: “Fifteen or twenty seconds later, just as [Davis’s] radio crackled with a message, the door opened and Rumsfeld walked out, looking composed and wearing the jacket he normally discarded while in his office.” Cockburn told an interviewer: “I couldn’t discover what he was wearing inside his office that morning -- but normally he would take off his suit jacket and put on a sort of like a vest, because he found it chilly in the office. So . . . I think he had time to change his clothes, put on his going-outside jacket, come out.” How could Rumsfeld have changed his clothes in the space of just 15 to 20 seconds? If he was already dressed to go outside when the Pentagon was hit, was this just a fortunate coincidence? Or is it possible that he knew in advance that the Pentagon was going to be attacked, and therefore had put on his jacket ready to respond when this happened?

As the defense secretary appeared, Davis repeated to him what he’d just heard on his radio: Reportedly, an airplane had hit a section of the Pentagon known as the Mall. Rumsfeld set off without a word and without informing any of his command staff where he was going, heading swiftly towards the Mall, with Davis and some colleagues trying to keep up behind him. Finding no sign of damage there, Davis told the secretary: “[N]ow we’re hearing it’s by the heliport,” which was the next side of the building.

Corrs guitarist Jim Corr has claimed that there was overwhelming evidence that the 9/11 attacks in America were carried out by "rogue elements" of US President George Bush's "neo-con administration".

In a rare intervention into the political arena, the male singer with The Corrs band also came out against the Lisbon Treaty claiming that it is " tip-toe totalitarianism in the West".

In an interview with Matt Cooper on Ireland's Today FM's 'Last Word', Corr made the case for voting 'No' to Lisbon, claiming it could introduce the death penalty to Ireland and contribute to a "new world order".

Corr's opposition is based on his three years "studying the New World Order which the European Union is a part of".

He said "the EU is a stepping stone towards a world government, they will merge it with the Asia Pacific Union, the African Union and the North American Union". The Lisbon Treaty itself will introduce "a scientific technocracy" to Europe which will erode national sovereignty.

Corr claimed that The Charter of Fundamental Rights allows for the introduction of the death penalty.

"It makes provision for the introduction to law for the death penalty in times of war or imminent threat of war.

"What we are seeing is tip-toe totalitarianism in the West with 9/11 the key to understanding this.

"When you study 9/11 it becomes very apparent... it was a staged terrorist attack, what they call a false flag operation."

Corr said overwhelming evidence suggests 9/11 "was carried out by rogue elements in the Bush neo-con administration".

What links did Mohammed Atta have to Cheney & the Pentagon?

On August 27, 2005, an article, sub-titled, ''9/11 Ringleader Connected to Secret Pentagon Operation,'' by Dr. Daniele Ganser of the Zurich Polytechnic Institute, was published by the International Relations and Security Network (ISN). It identifies the role of 9/11 ringleader Mohammed Atta and three other hijackers in a secret Pentagon operation – an operation that largely refutes the official U.S. government narrative as presented by the 9/11 Commission.

As well, the Australian Department of Defense's highly sophisticated research system shows that numerous meetings took place between Atta and Zacarais Moussaoui, the would-be 20th 9-11 hijacker.

In addition to revealing that Atta was connected to a top-secret operation of the Pentagon's Special Operations Command (SOCOM), Dr. Ganser joins many other investigators in claiming that a top-secret Pentagon project code-named ''Able Danger'' identified Atta as a member of an al-Qaeda cell more than a year before the 9/11 attacks.

So what was the role (or link) that Atta had vis-à-vis the top-secret operation of the Pentagon's Special Operations Command (SOCOM)? Did anyone in the Pentagon or higher (such as Dick Cheney) know in advance what Atta was planning? Was Atta working for (or with) someone in the Bush administration? Who was really in charge of how things went down – or were allowed to go down -- on 9/11?

Lieutenant-Colonel Anthony Shaffer, a 42-year-old native of Kansas City who worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in Washington at the time of the 9/11 attacks, and had insights into the Pentagon's top secret operation, urged the FBI to arrest Atta -- but the Pentagon's lawyers intervened and ''protected Atta for reasons that remain unclear.'' What were those reasons?

Note how similar this protection of Atta is to how Moussaoui has been ''protected.'' When he was arrested, why was the FBI so reluctant to inspect Moussaoui's laptop computer? Why were both men in some ways protected? And on whose orders?

Perhaps quite significantly, the 9/11 Commission Report fails to even mention Operation Able Danger or any other U.S.-based SOCOM operations.

Also quite significantly, U.S. senators from both parties accused the U.S. Defense Department of obstructing an investigation into ''Able Danger'' and the associated claims that its documents and personnel could have identified Mohammed Atta and other hijackers well before 9/11! The Pentagon blocked several witnesses from testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Even Republican Senator Arlen Spector regarded the Able Danger assertions as credible. Democrat Joseph Biden took it further, accusing the Pentagon of a cover-up.

A longtime Army intelligence officer went public with his allegations about a cover-up in the 9/11 investigation, giving an on-the-record interview Monday night to the New York Times and Fox News, and then further interviews Tuesday to other news outlets.

Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, 42, confirmed that he had been a source for previous reports in the Times and the Norristown Times-Herald, a Philadelphia-area newspaper, about a secret data-mining operation known as Able Danger, which he said had identified Mohammed Atta and three other 9/11 suicide hijackers in 2000, more than a year before the terrorist attacks.

Shaffer said that his unit had contacted the FBI repeatedly during 2000 to warn that a US-based terrorist cell was at work, but three times was forced to cancel meetings to brief the FBI at the instruction of the Strategic Operations Command (SOCOM), the Pentagon unit in charge of all counter-terrorism work.

He charged that the information withheld might have made it possible to arrest Atta and other terrorists before they could carry out their plans. "I was at the point of near insubordination over the fact that this was something important, that this was something that should have been pursued," Shaffer told the Times. He said the Pentagon officials did not want the information circulated because it would reveal the existence of the secret military intelligence project and lead to criticism that the military was collecting information on the American people.

By his account, Shaffer was not directly involved in data collection or analysis, but served as liaison between Able Danger and the Defense Intelligence Agency, the largest unit of the vast US intelligence apparatus. Defense Department officials did not dispute his version of events, but declined any further comment.

Neo-Con General Calls For Terror Attacks In Iran / Iran Intercepts U.S. Terrorists Plotting Attack on Russian Consulate

As if to underscore neocon retired general Thomas McInerney's call for terror attacks against Iran (see Paul Joseph Watson, Neo-Con General Calls For Terror Attacks In Iran - below) , the Russian news and information agency RIA Novosti reports "Iran has arrested a terrorist group that planned to blow up the Russian consulate building in the town of Rasht near the Caspian Sea, the Iranian intelligence and security minister said on Wednesday."

It appears the neocons are attempting to drag Russia into the coming conflagration, particularly because Russia has cooperated with Iran, specifically in regard to Iran's light water reactor at Bushehr. In late 2005, Russia proposed an arrangement under which Iran would end its uranium enrichment activities in return for a Russian guarantee to enrich, in Russia, all uranium needed for Iranian nuclear power plants, an arrangement permitted under the NPT. It appears the neocons and their terrorist proxies are now targeting Russia for its perceived impertinence.

As award-winning journalist Seymour Hersh reported back in 2004, U.S. intelligence and Israel's Mossad are busy at work stirring up trouble in Iran in preparation for an attack on that country. In early 2005, the Guardian reported that "American special forces have been on the ground inside Iran scouting for US air strike targets for suspected nuclear weapons sites, according to the renowned US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh."

Obviously, as the foiled attack on the Russian consulate demonstrates, this operation has expanded from simply targeting nuclear facilities — again, entirely legal under the term of the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty — and now includes directing terrorist groups against civilian and government targets.

Earlier in the week, Iran's intelligence minister said "those behind a bomb blast in a mosque that killed 14 people last month also planned to target a Russian consulate in the Islamic state," according to Reuters. "President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused the United States, Israel and Britain on Tuesday of being responsible for the blast in the southern city of Shiraz that also wounded 200 people." Intelligence minister Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei said his "ministry last week said it had arrested five or six members of a terrorist group with links to Britain and the United States, who it said were involved in the explosion" at the mosque.

McInerney's comments on Fox News were intended to dovetail with this increasing "covert" U.S. and Israeli sponsored violence in Iran. It appears the targeting of a Russian consulate is designed to ratchet up the tension. In the future, if MEK or "al-Qaeda" terrorist groups successfully kill Russians, this may very well start a Third World War, or as the neocons fondly call it, World War Four.

Neo-Con General Calls For Terror Attacks In Iran

Fresh off the revelation of Donald Rumsfeld's 2006 audio tape admission that a method to reinvigorate the Neo-Con agenda would be another terror attack, Neo-Cons like Ret. Gen. Thomas McInerney, who was part of the Pentagon's "message force multipliers" propaganda program, have been calling for the Bush administration to commit acts of terror in Iran.

According to the Crooks and Liars blog, McInerney has appeared on Fox News 144 times since Jan 2002. In one of his recent appearances he publicly called for the U.S. government to support groups like MEK, which is listed by the State Department as a terrorist organization, and carry out deadly bombings in Iran.

McInerney: Here's what I would suggest to you. Number one, we take the National Council for Resistance to Iran off the terrorist list that the Clinton Administration put them on as well as the Mujahedin-e Khalq at the Camp Ashraf in Iraq. Then I would start a tit-for-tat strategy which I wrote up in the Wall Street Journal a year ago: For every EFP that goes off and kills Americans, two go off in Iran. No questions asked. People don't have to know how it was done. It's a covert action. They become the most unlucky country in the world. …

McInerney's frothing desire to see women and children blown to bits in the streets of Tehran may have something to do with the fact that "McInerney is on the Board of Directors for several companies with defense-related contracts that would seem to benefit from his pro-war propaganda. For example, Alloy Surfaces Company (ASC), whose contracts for "ammunition and explosives" with the Department of Defense appear to have grown from $15 million in 2002 to more than $169 million in 2006. A conflict of interest, perhaps?"

McInerney "tit-for-tat" strategy, to support MEK-run terror bombings in Iran in retaliation for Iran supposedly killing U.S. troops in Iraq, a baseless claim in itself, is all the more horribly ironic when one considers the fact that MEK "has killed US troops and civilians before back in the 1970s".

As Crooks and Liars points out, the U.S. government is already funding MEK and the group has been linked with numerous bombings inside Iran over the course of the last few years.

In addition - British SAS have been caught training insurgents in Iraq to carry out hi-tech bombings that are later blamed on Iran.

Another Iranian-based terror group that the Bush administration is already funding as a means of regime change in Iran is Jundullah - a Sunni Al-Qaeda terrorist group formerly headed by the alleged mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

"The CIA is giving arms-length support, supplying money and weapons, to an Iranian militant group, Jundullah, which has conducted raids into Iran from bases in Pakistan," the London Telegraph reported last year.

The group has been blamed for a number of bombings inside Iran aimed at destabilizing Ahmadinejad's government and is also active in Pakistan, having been fingered for its involvement in attacks on police stations and car bombings at the Pakistan-US Cultural Center in 2004.

Crooks and Liars documents White House efforts to censor reports about MEK and other Iranian terror groups in the U.S. corporate media.

In Dec 2006, just days after Rumsfeld was forced to step down, the NYT published a heavily redacted op-ed by Flynt Leverett and Hillary Mann. Though none of the info was classified, all of which had previously "been extensively reported in the news media," much of their article was blacked out because the "White House intervened" before it went to print. In response, Leverett and Mann followed up with an accompanying piece "What We Wanted to Tell You About Iran" where they provided citations to previously reported sources for all of the redacted info. Raw Story compiled those sources in their "The redacted Iran op-ed revealed" and, surprise, many of the articles refer directly to the MEK terrorist group, but there had been nary a mention in the portions the White House allowed.

So, to recap: One of the Pentagon's propaganda TV analysts who has clear ties to defense industries that would likely stand to benefit from any increased hostilities is advocating that the US ought to use a terrorist organization to commit acts of terrorism against Iran in response to alleged Iranian involvement in attacks against US forces in Iraq, which might be true, or maybe not. And if that wasn't outrageous enough, it seems that Bush may have been authorizing such tactics already.

Congressman questions DOD presence on Capitol Hill as war funding debated

WASHINGTON - An anti-war Democratic congressman is demanding to know why there were uniformed Defense Department personnel watching House proceedings from a public gallery Thursday, who they were and what they were doing.

"If they were here on official duty, this was an abhorrent misallocation of our military resources at a time of war," Northern California Rep. Pete Stark asserted Friday in a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Stark, an 18-term incumbent known for his liberal positions and outbursts of temper, said he observed the contingent of 20 or so officers, apparently Army generals, in the gallery for a couple of hours while the House debated and voted on an Iraq war spending bill.

"At a time when our nation is at war, our troops are overextended, and the administration is literally asking for emergency military spending, what good to the 'war on terror' is having U.S. generals and other top-ranked officers — who were likely accompanied by staff and escorted by their chauffeurs — spending hours sitting in the gallery of the House of Representatives?" Stark asked.

The query drew a stinging response from a Pentagon spokesman.

"It seems that Rep. Stark issued his press release before sending his letter to Secretary Gates because we have yet to receive it, but without knowing the particulars of the incident he is inquiring about I can tell you that there is nothing unusual about military officers visiting and/or observing the workings of Congress," said spokesman Geoff Morrell.

Shocking excerpts of confidential recordings recently released under the Freedom of Information Act feature former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld talking with top military analysts about how a flagging Neo-Con political agenda could be successfully restored with the aid of another terrorist attack on America.

The tape also includes a conversation where Rumsfeld and the military analysts agree on the possible necessity of installing a brutal dictator in Iraq to oversee U.S. interests.

The tapes were released as part of the investigation into the Pentagon's "message force multipliers" program in which top military analysts were hired to propagandize for the Iraq war in the corporate media.

In attendance at the valedictory luncheon Rumsfeld hosted on December 12, 2006 were David L. Grange, Donald W. Sheppard, James Marks, Rick Francona, Wayne Downing, and Robert H. Scales, Jr. among others.

The most extraordinary exchange takes place when Lt. Gen. Michael DeLong bemoans shrinking political support for Neo-Con war plans on Capitol Hill and suggests that sympathy for the Bush administration's agenda will only be achieved after a new terror attack.

Rumsfeld agrees that the psychological impact of 9/11 is wearing off and the "behavior pattern" of citizens in both the U.S. and Europe suggests that they are unconcerned about the threat of terror.

DELONG: Politically, what are the challenges because you're not going to have a lot of sympathetic ears up there until it [a terror attack] happens.

RUMSFELD: That's what I was just going to say. This President's pretty much a victim of success. We haven't had an attack in five years. The perception of the threat is so low in this society that it's not surprising that the behavior pattern reflects a low threat assessment. The same thing's in Europe, there's a low threat perception. The correction for that, I suppose, is an attack. And when that happens, then everyone gets energized for another [inaudible] and it's a shame we don't have the maturity to recognize the seriousness of the threats...the lethality, the carnage, that can be imposed on our society is so real and so present and so serious that you'd think we'd be able to understand it, but as a society, the longer you get away from 9/11, the less...the less...

In another exchange, after assuring that comments are "off the record," Rumsfeld and one of the military analysts agree that Iraq could use a "Syngman Rhee" to take control of Iraq. Syngman Rhee was the ruthless authoritarian dictator of South Korea from after World War II through the Korean War to 1960. If the invasion of Iraq was about liberating the Iraqis from a tyrant in the form of Saddam Hussein why is Rumsfeld talking about installing an even more brutal dictator?

Rumsfeld's admission that the correction for dwindling support of the Neo-Con imperial crusade is another terror attack is perhaps the most startling and blatant indication that 9/11 was an inside job.

How much more evidence do we need to confirm that the Neo-Con hierarchy in control of the U.S. government are instigating and exploiting terror in the pursuit of their own domestic and geopolitical agenda?

As Jerry Mazza writes today, "In the seven years since the day, exhaustive and still growing evidence proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the US government, spearheaded by the Bush administration, planned, orchestrated and executed the 9/11 false flag operation. As openly advocated by wide swaths of elites, from the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), of which Rumsfeld has been a member, to the likes of Zbigniew Brzezinski (in his The Grand Chessboard), only an attack “on the order of Pearl Harbor” would, in Brzezinski’s words, cause the American people to support an “imperial mobilization,” and a world war."

Placing the new evidence against previously revealed 9/11-related acts on the part of Rumsfeld, his guilt is overt and obvious. Recall that it was Rumsfeld who enthusiastically penned the "Go Massive" memo, gleefully declaring the Bush administration finally had the green light to kill: “Not only UBL (Usama bin Laden). Go massive. Sweep it all up. Things related and not.”

The longing for a new terror attack to corral the masses back behind the Neo-Con agenda is a shared fetish amongst Neo-Cons, policy wonks and academics alike.

In August last year Philadelphia Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky openly called for "another 9/11" that "would help America" restore a "community of outrage and national resolve".

Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario, told the Toronto Star last July that "The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago."

The same sentiment was also explicitly expressed in a 2005 GOP memo, which yearned for new attacks that would "validate" the President's war on terror and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."

Also in July 2007, former Republican Senator Rick Santorum suggested that a series of "unfortunate events," namely terrorist attacks, will occur within the next year and change American citizen's perception of the war.

And the month before that, the new chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party Dennis Milligan said that there needed to be more attacks on American soil for President Bush to regain popular approval.

Comments posted on the left-wing Huffington Post website in response to the Rumsfeld tape indicate that even some of the most hardcore conspiracy debunkers have had their beliefs shaken to the core by the former Defense Secretary's admission.

"I have been a very staunch opponent of conspiracy theories," writes one, "but to hear the man most responsible for stopping foreign threats to American lives musing that a successful attack on the USA is somehow a "cure" for us... it almost makes me want to make a tinfoil hat with the nuts I made fun of."

Quiet US Confession: Weapons Were Not Made In Iran After All -

12/05/08 "ICH" -- - In a sharp reversal of its longstanding accusations against Iran arming militants in Iraq , the US military has made an unprecedented albeit quiet confession: the weapons they had recently found in Iraq were not made in Iran at all.

According to a report by the LA Times correspondent Tina Susman in Baghdad: "A plan to show some alleged Iranian-supplied explosives to journalists last week in Karbala and then destroy them was cancelled after the United States realized none of them was from Iran. A U.S. military spokesman attributed the confusion to a misunderstanding that emerged after an Iraqi Army general in Karbala erroneously reported the items were of Iranian origin. When U.S. explosives experts went to investigate, they discovered they were not Iranian after all."

The US, which until two weeks ago had never provided any proof for its allegations, finally handed over its "evidence" of the Iranian origin of these weapons to the Iraqi government. Last week, an Iraqi delegation to Iran presented the US "evidence" to Iranian officials. According to Al-Abadi, a parliament member from the ruling United Iraqi Alliance who was on the delegation, the Iranian officials totally refuted "training, financing and arming" militant groups in Iraq . Consequently the Iraqi government announced that there is no hard evidence against Iran.

In another extraordinary event this week, the US spokesman in Iraq, Maj. Gen. Kevin Bergner, for the first time did not blame Iran for the violence in Iraq and in fact did not make any reference to Iran at all in his introductory remarks to the world media on Wednesday when he described the large arsenal of weapons found by Iraqi forces in Karbala.

In contrast, the Pentagon in August 2007 admitted that it had lost track of a third of the weapons distributed to the Iraqi security forces in 2004/2005. The 190,000 assault rifles and pistols roam free in Iraqi streets today.

In the past year, the US leaders have been relentless in propagating their charges of Iranian meddling and fomenting violence in Iraq and since the release of the key judgments of the US National Intelligence Estimate in December that Iran does not have a nuclear weaponisation programme, these accusations have sharply intensified.

The US charges of Iranian interference in Iraq too have now collapsed. Any threat of military strike against Iran is in violation of the UN charter and the IAEA's continued supervision on Iran's uranium enrichment facilities means there is no justification for sanctions.

Civil Informationing vs. Last Century's "60's Style Protest Tactics"

The concept of "Civil Informationing" came to my mind when I was involved in planning and executing several typical anti-war protests against the upcoming and ensuing war in Iraq while living in Reno, NV in 2002, 2003 and 2004. What stood out to me THIS time around is that NOW we had the Internet...we were only doing the exact same "dated" things that were developed 40 years earlier (again!) And there was not very much integration between the "Internet and Information age", the people protesting in the streets, and the citizens observing our actions. What was frustrating was that although the VAST MAJORITY of feedback was against the war [interesting AYE?], citizens walked and drove past without becoming more informed about what was going on.

It was clear to me that activists' "public protest tactics" needed a change...a complete overhaul...because the "age old" models of protest activities were clearly not working in spite of the fact that we had some new tools at our disposal. In the years since, more and more excellent videos, DVDs, You Tubes, handouts and other "teaching tools" have been developed...mostly at the hand of many wonderful 9/11 Truth activists. YET, the confrontational "challenge authority street actions" have remained exactly the same as they were some 40 years ago.
