We've had a few new people join this tribe over the past while. I thought it might be time for some intros for both new members and those of us who've been around for a while.
Please introduce yourselves, tell us a bit about you and why you love burlesque!

Re: New Tribemates
Fri, July 6, 2007 - 7:36 PMI'm Tracy and my stage name is Sassy Noir. I use milkyway as my name on tribe because that's how I started out!
I am a member of the Cheesecake Burlesque Revue, located in Victoria BC. Find us at:

I love burlesque because the women in the Cheesecakes are so wonderful to work with--very creative, funny, positive, supportive, intelligent and dedicated people! It is our goal to have fun, provide a great show, and to improve women's self-image. -

Sat, July 7, 2007 - 12:30 AMI met you sassy Cheescake girls at the VIBF and thought everyone was lovely, sweet and oh so sexy.
I love hearing about other burlesquers perspectives on burlesque. I met burlesque at a time when I was healing my body and my body image. It has done wonders for me and now is doing amazing things for other women through me.
Yay!

Mon, July 9, 2007 - 11:23 PMHI! Thanks for the welcome Tabi! : )
I am not a burlesque dancer, but I am a costume designer. I love the way the costumes look!
I have to admit, I am addicted to most costumes...lol I have been making costumes for 11 years for exotic dancers here in the lower mainland. Some have crossed over to burlesque and the costuming is fascinating.
I don't want to step over any lines, and please slap me if I come across as a spammer. (actually I would prefer a spanking...lol) I sure don't want to seem that way. I would like to learn more about the beautiful art of burlesque, and maybe lend a hand somewhere along the line.
I wish I had seen the other thread about the blim market a while ago, I might have been able to vend there...*sigh*
please forgive my ramble...it's late. : ) -

Re: New Tribemates
Tue, July 10, 2007 - 1:19 PMBurlesque found me! I volunteered for a acquaintance, in Feb at the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival as, a merch girl. Now I'm
hooked, no more like obsessed. I've started performing in duo, we're called the East Van Socialites, it's way ...to much fun.
The performance part is going well , but I need serious costume help, I see a a lot of burlesque workshops around town, but does anyone know about costume workshops?
I now regret skipping most of my home ec classes.
