Beats Without Borders 2nd Anniversary Celebration!!!
Thursday, November 23rd
The Red Room, 398 Richards Street
Doors: 9 pm
Tickets are $10 at the door
Beats without Borders, Vancouver’s hottest DJ collective, have graced Stage 5 at the Festival for the past two years with their dynamic dance rhythms and beats along with special guest performances. If you’ve made it to the Saturday night after parties at the Jericho Gym, you know what kind of party they like to throw.
This not-to-be-missed anniversary celebration is shaping up to be a Vancouver Folk Music Festival 2006 Reunion. Joining the Beats Without Borders crew to help celebrate will be Folk Festival veterans and favorites Jacob Cino and Kytami (violinist extraordinaire) of Third Eye Tribe, as well as Sarah Kim a.k.a. Miss Bliss (the Festival’s programming & marketing associate) who will be starting the night off playing a myriad of delectable sonic delights.
A BWB night isn’t complete without a dazzling dance performance and for this night United Bhangra, who performed on Friday night of the Festival, will be there showing us the moves. Also a special live performance by BPM- bhangra mixed with hip hop spoken word.
And lastly, the stars themselves ... Nils, Lady Ra, and Tarun.
Come on out and celebrate the work that Beats without Borders has brought to the Vancouver massive! And don’t forget your dancing shoes!
